My Daughter My Pride

I had a conversation with one of my friends. in the vegetable market. The first time he saw my daughter. she was in my lap so he started playing with her and said 'Varun here is a there competition in my area and I'm judging over here, your daughter would win the competition if you make her participate.'

yes, she will win I answered.

he echoed then said that definitely, she will because she is your daughter.'

what do you mean by I asked?

he said, 'talent is secondary in my opinion her father name is enough.'

I said clearly that my daughter my pride but my name will be the reason for my daughter's success will not acceptable.

I only feel pride if she gets something on her own. As a father, I would just make her learn all aspects of life not all ways (right or wrong)to win.

Even every father wants his/her child should win every competition. they get success but it doesn't mean that by all means they would get anything. my pride would be real pride if it's coming in the right way.

M0y friend made me learn a lesson that day by his one sentence.
