At 4:30 am, my father knocked on the door of my room. I woke up quickly, opened the

door - worried face. He gave me some keys with ₹1500 thousand and a responsibility. I had to look after his factory next 8 days because he was going on the Amarnath tour with his friends. He could give that responsibility to my brother but; chose me. I smiled, assured him to take it seriously.

Around 6:30, I dropped my father out of our street, where his friends were waiting for him in a yellow number plate white car. Just before sailed, again made me remember about my responsibilities. He warned me that he would account for each and single penny after that pilgrimage tour. I just nodded, next day, I went in factory, a senior worker tried to made me understand each work but I had enough experience of that work. Only one thing was in my mind that I would work better than my father's expectations.

I planed, my 8 days work. I called labourers at random for a meeting. All 27 people were there including me. It was good manpower to send 15 consignments; what may be targeted by my father if he would have been here despite me. Clearly, I spoke to them to send 23 consignments as a target. I allured the labours by simple greed that if we could complete the target in 8 days so I would give them ₹200 each from my side. I had been facing so many problems from the next 3 days then, realized that I hadn't the record of money which I was expending in office expenditure. Also remembered, I had to give the whole record to my father.

I took out all the raw material purchasing bills from my pocket then got to know how much spent where. It was a child's play task for me to keep all records. I was to just write down on a black paper everything. We were working 18 hours in a day and I was so busy that day in office works so didn't make that list or through lethargy. Next day I thought, had many days for this simple work so left that work.

At 7th day, talked to my father. He told me that he would get 2 more day to reach home. I took that two days as an golden chance. Arranged a meeting with labours and changed my target, 30 consignment,my new target was. I increased the the money also. Which I was about to give them; it was ₹300 now. We worked 20 hours in a day next 2 and half days.

At last, we could complete the target before 9 hours. I gave them off for sleeping but I had a work to make a list of expenditure. I thought I had not been sleeping properly for 10 days so should have slept.

After a 10 hours long nap I took my breakfast. Having breakfast, father came. I touched his feet first then gave home the best smile ever. Virtually, smile of victory. He perceived by my face

that I had done fabulous work in factory. He told me that would talk to me in the evening. Then I

went to factory and distributed ₹300 each worker. They felt happy to work with me. I felt proud

on myself.

In the evening, father asked me the report of the factory, I eagerly spoke, "Daddy, I could send

only... 30 consignments."

He was stunned when he heard 30 consignments, he asked me written report of every work but I didn't make that. I said, "I did not make a written report but I can give a reckoning of each paisa which I spend in the factory." I took out all the bills and calculated all the expenses.

"Eight rupees difference is there in your calculation" father said. Mom interrupted, " my boy

did the finest work; why are you asking for eight rupees calculation?" Daddy replied," He has to give, and please... don't do the favour of your son." I wondered to see the strictness of my father then I accounted for money again but failed to abolish the difference of eight rupees.

Next 4 hours I had been trying to remember that where did I spend eight rupees. Meanwhile, my father was telling mother that he denoted some money during his tour. Suddenly, stricken in my mind that I took the two-thirds cup of tea on a signal for beggers what was missing in my calculation, I spoke to my father with shyness.

My father buoyed me and said," don't forget the value of time. Think, if you had been made a

written report on time so would not have needed to worry about that calculation. And lazy stance will always be a smear on your good work if you don't leave this.
