After somany months on this Sunday, she could get some time to talk to herself and relax. She is just 35years old and just completed her 10 years of life as s reporter. For the last three years, she is a freelancer. She is still single and didn't have any time to think of starting fresh again after her breakup in a relationship of six years just five years back. As she was relaxing and closed her eyes, she entered her memory lane.

Arati Menon was born in a very well-to-do family of Kerala. Her father late Mr. Rakesh Menon was a very big businessman engaged in export and real estate business. Her mother late Asha Menon was a professor of journalism and communication. Her only brother Ashok Menon, who is six years elder to her absconded since last 25 years. Ashok was then in class eleven and Arati was in class five. Ashok always liked to make his carrier in acting. He was the most handsome young guy in their town then. He won many awards on acting during school days. Arati loves her brother too much and always was feeling proud for his achievements. Her parents too had always inspired Ashok and put him in the school of drama. Arati had spend maximum time with her brother Ashok and mother Asha.

She used to be influenced by her mother, who was also a columnist in some leading newspapers. Their family was having very nice times. Arati was very good in debate and been awarded many times. Her father Rakesh was always a very loving father. He wanted to give everthing to his children to acomplish their goals. He was a very good motivator. Rakesh too was doing charity for upliftment of underprivileged people and silently taking care of a orphanage. As Rakesh was growing in his business and doing all in a very honest way, he unknowingly created many enemies who always wanted to destroy his business. But they were never successful in doing so. As the days passed the political environment changed, which had affected the social and cultural sanctity. The mafias entered in to politics. The social and cultural events got controlled by them and their people. The murder, rape, theft and blackmailing increased day by day. Many a times Rakesh was threatened by them. Asha, mother of Arati started writing about the changing scenario of the society in her columns. This had made the mafia turned politicians very unhappy as that was tarnishing their reputations. They tried to stop Asha Menon from writing such things, but she never listened to them.

Both Rakesh and Asha were very honest, kind hearted and social reformers. They used to enjoy the love and respect from the society. Then the day came, when Arati saw her everything been snached from her. That day Arati was late from school as she was participated in a debate competion and returned with her first prize, she saw people were gathered outside her house and the house was on fire. When she saw that she couldn't understand anything. The head of the orphanage Meera Nair and her assistant Suresh Prabhu stopped her. They hold her hiding her face. Arati remembered people were talking many things. The fire brigade team was trying to stop the fire and they recovered two burned bodies of her parents Rakesh Menon and Asha Menon. Arati started crying as she lost the most precious person of her life. She was very much scared when heard that it all happened due to a bomb blast. Her scary eyes were looking for her loving brother Ashok, as he left Arati at the venue of competition and came home. Then she saw the fire had stopped and the rescue team was saying to the press that only the eighty percent burned bodies of her parents were found. Then she with panic and hope for her brother started searching him.

She then didn't know what happened next as she fainted there. When Arati got her sense back, she found her in the orphanage.Meera and Suresh were sitting besides her. Meera took her in her lap and consoled her. Arati that time had gone completely blank headed. She was only visualising The Dark Side of her life. It took two weeks for Arati to be normal. Meera took all the care with motherly affections. She even told Arati that she should now be strong and pursue her study to fulfill her dreams. Even Meera told her that her brother Ashok is absconding and nobody knew anything about him. Then Arati looked at Meera and Suresh with the hope to search and find out her brother. She set her goal to be a journalist and fight with all to find her brother and the persons behind destroying her family. She with the support of Meera completed her school and joined journalisim courses for five years. She spends her life as an orphan. After her journalism, she started working with local newspapers for two years and started earning for herself and funding orphanages. That time she met with Aakash and fallen in love with him. Both of them had a nice life together in love. Aakash too was a journalist in an electronic media house.Their relation lasted for six years till they had a break up.

Suddenly Arati felt that tears are rolling down from her eyes. She too started getting an unusual pain while thinking of all The Dark Side of her past. She opened her eyes and washed them to feel fresh as she get into the bathroom to fresh her up.
