Festivals are an integrated part of human life. There are innumerable festivals celebrated all over the world. The onset of the festivals turn on a festive mood in the people and the most common sights during festivals are the shops crowded by people, enormous traffic on the road, humming or murmuring at various corners of the street, people waiting patiently in a huge line before the food stalls or restaurants and many more!! In the long montonous life of the people, these festivals light up the spirits and the happy mood inside every people. A new desire to enjoy oneself and hanging out with friends, relatives and near and dear ones spark up. People of every age tend to enjoy themselves to the fullest and cherish every passing moment of the carefree days during the festivals. Naming some of the major festivals celebrated world-wide are Holi - the festival of colours, Diwali - the festival of lights, Christmas, Halloween marking the birth of Jesus, and this list never-ends.

Starting this long list with Holi, it is termed as “The Festival of Colours”. This festival opens the list of cultural festivals around the world. It is an Indian Festival which commences from February and ends by March. It is devoted to love, spring and denote the triumph of good over evil. Moving on to Diwali or the “Festival of Lights”, it also celebrates the victory of good over evil, lightness over darkness. This festival is mainly marked by bursting fireworks, heaps of food, lighting of diyas and family bonding. There are many other festivals too which symbolises something or the other. However, all festivals help people to escape from the reality and get some respite.

Personally, whenever any festival is celebrated, not only I smile but also i try to make others smile — especially the poor people, the needy and the downtrodden ones.

Honestly speaking, I try to give some old clothes of mine to BharatSebasram or Ramkrishna Mission. All these are done heartily and not for mentioning these here and gaining a lot of credit and appreciation from you all readers!
