Kids from their tender age always lose some or the other of their possessions due to their playful nature. I was also not an exception to this fact. However, at the age of 16, I lost my pencil bag in my school due to my unmindfulness and all the memories of that very bag are increasing my grief. This pencil bag was absolutely newly bought by my mother from the store situated just beneath my chess club at Baghajatin in Kolkata(formerly Calcutta). The pencil bag was my favourite and I loved it a lot. The bag was of two colours - Red and Yellow - All the football fans can very well associate this colour with a team of Kolkata even without my clue. The bag consisted of 3 different compartments with each compartment which were quite spacious. I had carefully preserved the bag in the cupboard of my home and hoped to use it some day. But after a couple of days, my mother told me " Use it, else it will remain unused and ultimately get damaged". I replied in the affirmative and took it to school from the next day. As winter is knocking at the doors and the till-now regular "Afternoon" scheduled was suddenly replaced by the "Morning" session, I had kept a small box of Boroline inside my pencil bag. That Boroline was a prize that I had got in the Kolkata Police Chess Association Tournament. Everyday, mindfully, I tried to open my pencil bag to the least as possible and kept it in proximity. But in this month of Nov, I lost my pencil bag suddenly. One fine day, an incident of bullying took place in our section and somehow I got indirectly involved in that matter. As my mind was very distracted and engulfed in that incident, I left my pencil bag in my desk and even forgot to keep it inside my bag after the dispersal bell rung. I returned home as usual and the next day when I opened my bag, I was unable to find my pencil bag. After searching for it frantically and desperately, I became hopeless and was assured of the fact that I had left it at school only. The next day as soon as I reached my school, I went to my classroom and looked for it everywhere but all in vain! Hurrying to the lost and found I asked one of the staffs to open it and he did the same. To my horror, I saw that there were only some pencils, sharpeners, 1 lab coat and nothing else ! - Yes, Literally nothing else". My heartbeat rose considerably and I tried to think of all the possible places from where I could get it somehow but couldn't find any. After rushing hither and thither, I became extremely depressed. I became sure that some or the other pupils of the "Afternoon" session had taken it. I asked my friends if they knew which class sits in our classroom in the next session and they all replied that the pupils were of Class IX. Although I gathered many information but the lost possession could not be recovered. I felt extremely angry on the person who had taken my bag and thought of teaching him a lesson. I had to undergo a mixed feeling of depression as well as tremendous anger. But lastly, the only person whom I could blame was none other than myself as it was my irresponsibility that costed me.

Nevertheless, I am still searching for it, and hoping for the best in the near future.

The end
