He is the Gananayakan. Protector of all creatures on this Earth. Before doing any task We Must pray to avoid obstacles ( Vignam). By Praying To Him, we can avoid any kind of obstacles.
AN episode from Lord Ganesha Story
Once Muni Naradha gave Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathy a mango fruit, a very precious one Called Gnana Pazham. So both of them were knowing not what to do since they are having two children Muruga and Ganesha. So they decided to have a test as whom so ever wins will get the fruit.
The test is that they have to go around this world three times and whoever comes first after completion will get the fruit. Murga got excited then and there he started his trip on his peacock vagana . Ganesha having a stout body and vaganam mushika(rat) was much confused as to what to do. Suddenly an idea struck him. Then and there He sat on Mushika and slowly and steadily started to go around Lord SIva and Goddess Parvathy three times and completed before Muruga Came.
Lord Siva asked him what did he do instead of going around the world he made three rounds around them. Ganesha said he did so as both his parents are greater than this world They are the Lord of this Universe. So going round them means going round the earth. Lord Siva was immensely pleased with Ganesha and gave him the mango before Murga arrived.
Murga seeing Ganesha having the mango got very much upset and annoyed. He in anger left his parents and went and sat on the top of a hill. Now that hill is called Pazhani malai. Muruga Himself called Gnanapazham. Pazhamni means ( You yourself is the gnana fruit.)
Moral ------ In This World no one else other than the Parents are great and to be respected and protected always. Another Moral is that timely and appropriate ideas always take us to the right path, as Lord Ganesha did.
