Avinash, pursuing MBBS, living in the hostel with his roommate Rohan. When all his friends used to discuss girls he would only listen to them, he never felt any attraction to girls. Once they planned a party and when Avinash looked at Rohan, he could not take off his eyes off him. He just felt something inside different.

They went to a party and enjoyed it a lot. Avinash could not stop himself from thinking about Rohan. That night he dreamt of Rohan and himself together, he woke up suddenly, and he could feel he was aroused.

Avinash was going insane. He started ignoring Rohan.

Then one day when he was listening to the news. The news was about LGBT and Delhi high court has decriminalized section 377. “That means I am gay. Why didn’t it stick me earlier.?” thought Avinash.

That day when both were in the room, Suddenly Rohan hugged him and said,” You know being gay is not criminality in INDIA now. I am so much relieved. I know you like me. I like you too. ”Avinash was shocked by that sudden confession, but he hugged him back as he was also relieved to know about Rohan now.

Till graduation, they stayed together. Rohan’s family was ok with them, but Avinash never mentions anything to their parents. He was the only son, and he knew it would not go that smoothly. When His parents started pressurizing him to get married, then one day out of frustration he told them all. His father said,” Get out of our house if you want to be with a guy. Maybe it is legal in INDIA, but our society will never accept it. We don’t want to be ashamed because of you.”

Broken heart, he left his home.

It was December 2013 by now, and Avinash’s parents called him to come back home and marry a girl, as being gay was illegal again according to Supreme Court. He refused and both Rohan and Avinash went to Canada. “I hate INDIA, being gay is natural. We cannot change it. How can it be a criminal thing? I just hate our constitution. If God has made us that way, how are we going against nature? If nature wants only a man and a woman can be together then why nature will create gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgenders?” said Avinash while sobbing. “I love my family, I want to live with them, I want them to understand me and accept me as I am. Is it a lot that I am asking for.??” continued Avinash.

Rohan tried to console him. 5years went like that, Avinash tried to call his parents, but they never talked to him.

Then on 6sep 2018, Avinash’s mother called, “Come home my son, LGBT is legal in India now. Supreme Court has decriminalized section 377. THE TIME IS NOW with you and Rohan, we are waiting for both of you. ”Avinash burst out in tears. He could not believe that,
