Her Soulmate

True love happens only once in life but till you meet your love, you may fall in love again and again. It is a saying that, we are sent with 2 parts of one soul means soulmates, so one part tries to find the other part.

Kalika was standing at the edge of the cliff. A strong cool breeze was blowing. Her hair was playing with the wind unaware of the deep sadness of its owner. Tears were also contributing to making the situation more terrifying.

Kalika looked down one last time and closed her eyes and brought her one foot forward,

"Hey..hey..just stop there... let me click a picture", said Tanmay, a 24year old Photographer, and clicked one picture of Kalika.

Kalika looked back towards the voice with a sad look and then ignored him and again brought her one foot forward, which she had taken back while looking back.

"Wao.. you are looking so hot on camera. I have never taken such a beautiful shot in my life", said Tanmay

smiling and walking close to Kalika.

"Are not you getting anything?? I am attempting suicide here...", said Kalika in anger and turned around.

"Really..?? I thought you were just posing to see, how it feels to stand on one foot at the edge of the cliff", said Tanmay in a more taunting way.

Kalika's face fell open with a little shock, she made her face when she understood his taunt.

"You please go from here and let me do my work", said Kalika and started going towards the edge.

"Why should I go?? This is a public place and you can do whatever you were doing. I will just see how you do. After all, there should be some eye witness, otherwise, after falling God knows where your body will go.

Do one thing, do tell me your name and your parent's Address, and I will inform them. They must be staying nearby I guess.

I can do this much for you", said Tanmay to make her talk to him.

Kalika got sad even more and she decided to ignore Tanmay and jump immediately.

As Kalika was about to jump, Tanmay again shouted, now louder, and said," Wait.. are you an unsatisfied soul? I mean after death your soul will roam here and there and this place will turn into a haunted one...oh Nooooo...I am just so afraid of ghosts and haunted places".

Tanmay acted very nicely to gain some more time.

"Can you please wait for just 5-10 minutes? Let me click a few good shots of this beautiful scenic place. I have come from far to get a few awesome pictures for my project, please please.. help me, just grant me one last wish", said Tanmay.

"I am dying, not You", yelled Kalika getting irritated again.

"One last wish" murmured Kalika making a weird face.

"Yes, you are right. But let's do it other ways this time. You grant me your last wish before dying, you will become famous after dying..people will come here to feel your soul and this place will become a wish-granting place", said Tanmay coming close to Kalika.

"Are you for real?? Here I am dying and you are asking for wishes.. making me famous.. actually making fun of me. Your life must be very happening and you may be happy in your life. But I am not happy. I have lost peace of my mind.. so please let me at least die peacefully", Kalika's voice changed from anger irritated to sad.

"You haven't even asked me the reason for suicide. How selfish you are!! And asking me for a favor??" said Kalika in a crying voice and sat down.

Tanmay relaxed and smiled a bit and sat next to Kalika.

The silence was killing but Kalika was feeling at peace having someone sitting beside her.

FLASHBACK

"My parents died in a car accident, I was 15 years old. My grandmother raised me with the leftover money. Soon I started working part-time at random places. Then I got a job in a small restaurant as a full-time waitress. Everything was going well.

Then I met Lokesh. He also started working as an employee there and soon we became good friends. He used to drop me home at night.

One day he proposed to me, and I accepted. Everything was super awesome. His dream was to go to America and settle down there but he had not had that much money.

Then one day,

He said we should marry soon and then he will leave for America. He said he had arranged some money and needed some more. He asked for my help. I was so madly in love that I decided to mortgage my small house and gave that money to him. After a week, he stopped coming to the restaurant. I called him thousands of times but he was not reachable. I went to his home, it was locked and then his neighbor told me that he had left for America.

It was a big shock for me. I could not understand what just had happened to me. Somehow I reached my home and cried like hell. I was deceived.

After 1week when I came to my senses, I went to the police. FIR was lodged. I don't know if they did anything or not but I always get to know that "we are still searching. He has used all the wrong ID Proofs".

One month went by, then 2nd month.

Somehow I managed to pay back my loan EMI.

I was so much depressed. I had to sell my mother's jewelry for 3rd installment.

My grandmother passed away in distress.

I was left alone with a huge loan. But still, I decided to work hard. I joined a night duty job at some other place.

Working so much, day and night, and sleeping less, my health started falling down. One day I fell down at my workplace. I was hospitalized for 15 days. Due to so many holidays, I was thrown out from my night shift job.

As this was not enough, the restaurant owner died and his wife closed the restaurant.

I looked for other jobs, but no results. I even worked as a maid but the loan amount was so high that I could not pay the loan EMI for 4-5 months.

Always to sickness and the pressure of loans, I could not work properly. People threw me out from there too.

Bank people sent me a notice, but I had nothing. They asked me to empty the house. I sold whatever I could and took the money and was sitting on a railway platform to spend one night there, I fell asleep and someone stole whatever I had. I felt so helpless.

This happened 7days back. I kept on roaming here and there. Men and boys would look at me in lust, some people asked me to even sleep with them for money, I could not bear all that, so I came here to end all".

Kalika started crying again.

Tanmay, who was sitting silent all the time, gave her water and when Kalika stopped crying, he said," I can say you went through a lot of things. You have shown so much courage to beat all problems till the end. You are such a strong girl. Have you ever tried going as a model?? Your looks are quite photogenic."

"You are still in the mood for a joke", asked Kalika looking at Tanmay.

Tanmay smiled and said," Okay, Let's see how can we solve your problem. I don't have enough money to lend you to get back to your house but you can stay at my flat and search for a job. I will manage your food and clothing till you find a good job. What you say??"

Kalika looked at Tanmay in dismay.

'Your wish only? If you don't want to trust me, then please don't. I will not lie like I am gay to let you come. I am a straight man but I don't like to exploit any girl. If you want to give your life a second chance you will have to trust me", said Tanmay.

Kalika said nothing and looked again at the edge of the cliff.

Tanmay got up and said," I am clicking some pictures, I will not ask you again, if you want to come, you can follow me."

Kalika kept on sitting and thinking, when she saw Tanmay leaving, suddenly she got up and ran towards him.

Both walked for half an hour and then stopped at some small eatery place.

Kalika got a place to live and food to eat. Tanmay bought her some new clothes. Kalika tried at many places for work but had no results.

She started doing household chores for Tanmay which he disliked and asked her to just do her own work.

One day, Tanmay gave her good news.

"Guess what?? Your picture that I took, my boss, liked it so much that he offered to take you as a model in his next project", said Tanmay getting super excited.

Kalika was totally clueless, and said,' what picture??"

Tanmay showed her the picture.

"Is this me??" said Kalika getting surprised.

"Of course you..you were looking damn hot. I told you, your face is photogenic", said Tanmay.

In the picture, Kalika's face with a side body was taken with flowing hair. Kalika had good body curves and on top of that scenic view behind her made that picture a hot one.

That picture was so awesome that Tanmay could not stop but kissed the picture. Kalika blushed and said," I don't know what modeling is?"

"Awww..don't be so innocent my 'kika'. I will take you tomorrow with me. So get ready on time. And now it's party time. Let's order something cool".

For Kalika, everything was new. It was difficult too to live a completely new life. She had to undergo strict training for 3months.

After 3months when Kalika came in front of Tanmay with a fancy outfit, heels, makeup, and blunt-cut haircut, he could not blink his eyes for 2 mins.

Tanmay put his right hand on the left side of his chest and said," Oh My God..who are you?? It's like my dream girl is finally in front of me."

Kalika laughed and said, "That's enough.."

She hugged him and said," You have changed my life Tanmay. I would have been dead if it was not for you. You saved me, you helped me, and you made me like this, I am confident today. Soon I will make my own identity. You are like a God to me. I must have done something super good in my past life that you appeared as a savior on that day".

"Hey.. stop.. don't make me God. I just helped you little. You are here because of your hard work. You stayed in your training because you wanted to do something, many girls fail this training".

Kalika actually made her own identity within 2 years. She started getting foreign assignments.

Within these 2 years Kalika never forgot how Tanmay had helped her and deep in her heart she had started liking him too but she never got the same hint from Tanmay.

On the other hand, Tanmay never got serious in his life in the department of girls, he was heels over head in love with Kalika. For him, love relationships were just 3-4 months time pass. But since he had met Kalika, no other girl could enter in his heart. He was afraid if he tells Kalika about his feelings, maybe she will leave him, or maybe she will feel pressurized to say yes, for the sake of his godly help.

One day Tanmay threw a party on the success of one of his projects and invited some of his old friends. He also planned to ask Kalika, if she would accept him as her life partner.

Party was going well and Kalika was talking to Akshita.

"Well, Tanmay must be deeply in love with you??" asked Akshita.

"what", said Kalika in shock.

"Yeah... I mean you people are together now for nearly about 3 years. Has not he proposed to you yet?? He was never so slow. Whenever he liked any girl, he would have proposed soon, and then he would get bored of that girl even sooner".

"What are you talking about?? We are just flatmates. We are not a couple. And I have never seen Tanmay with any girl since I met him", said Kalika hiding her emotions.

"Maybe then he is keeping you out of his affairs as you also stay here with him. I thought you two are a couple already", said Akshita and went to get another drink for herself.

Akshita's words kept on running in Kalika's mind. She could not enjoy the party and soon she went to her room.

Tanmay knocked on the door after everyone left. Kalika came out and Tanmay asked her if she was feeling okay.

Kalika said," I am fine, just a little headche".

Tanmay wanted to confess his love but looking at Kalika's face, he changed his mind.

The next day, Kalika told Tanmay that she was going to Paris for her next project and it would be for a longer duration of at least 9-10 months.

Tanmay's face fell down after listening to the news.

Tanmay could sense a change in Kalika's behavior but he could not understand what had happened. Kalika went to Paris in front of his eyes and he could not do anything.

For Tanmay, it was never so hard to live alone. He was used to falling for girls and then leaving them. But this time, he was sure it was true love. He lost his hunger, and sleep, and would always kept on thinking about Kalika.

She would avoid his calls by saying that she was busy with her project. But Kalika was also finding it hard to live without Tanmay when she had already planned to leave Tanmay's flat on her next visit to India.

2months went by, and Tanmay lost his patience and booked tickets to Paris.

He wanted to know, what was going on in Kalika's mind.

The day Tanmay had to reach Paris, Akshita called Kalika and told her about Tanmay's behavior for the last 2months. She told her that she was wrong in thinking that Tanmay could be in any relationship for the last 3years. She asked Kalika to forgive her and give Tanmay a chance if Kalika also like him.

Kalika was still on the call when she was called by some familiar voice behind her. She turned back and saw Tanmay there.

Both of them ran towards each other. When they reached near to one another, they stopped. Both were crying. Tanmay opened his arms and Kalika fell in his arms. They hugged for 5 minutes and then Tanmay asked," Why are you avoiding me? What has happened?? You can't even imagine how these last 2 months had gone for me. I can't live without you, Kalika."

"I thought you don't have any feelings for me and you like someone else, so I came to Paris to leave you with your loved one", said Kalika sobbing.

Tanmay held Kalika's hand in his hands and said," I LOVE YOUUU.. idiot..and that since I met you for the very first time. I fell for your spirit of courage when you told me your story, and my respect for you increased when I saw you working so hard. I was never serious earlier in my relationships but with you, I know it's the true one."

When Kalika said nothing, Tanmay asked," If you don't like me then you don't have to say yes under any kind of pressure."

"No...stupid. I Love You too...I am so happy that I am feeling short of words."

Both of them smiled and hugged again.

After a while when they came to their senses, they realized they were in front of the Eiffel Tower, a place where most love proposals are made.

So finally one part of the soul found its other part and a sense of completeness was earned.
