Kashmir Diaries
Kashmir Diaries
Can you name someone who doesn't love to travel? Well it's next to impossible because who doesn't love to travel? Well, if you talk about me I just love to travel and here I'm telling you one of my travel story which was so much unexpected but very enjoyable and interesting. So let's dive in...
I was very very happy as me and my family had decided to go ahead for a vacation to the heaven of India: Kashmir. Our train tickets were booked. I was dreaming of how it would be if I had wings, I would just have flied away to Kashmir. Every day was going very slowly and everyone was waiting 13 March 2020 to come. Wanna know why? Because on 13 March we were going to leave for Kashmir. And finally after a very long wait, 13 March came and we reached the railway station. Soon, our train came and we found our berths and we sat on them. I sat on the window seat because I love to watch the scenes from the train. Our train began to run and in 1 day, we reached Jammu. As soon as we entered there, we were like so happy, the atmosphere there was very good and fresh but ya! bit cold too. We booked a mini bus and started our journey to Kashmir from Jammu. There wasn't any railway line for Kashmir from Jammu, so we didn't had any option. On our way, we were thrilled. Why? Because the road was so thin, so thin that only one car or bus could pass from the road at a time. Also the road was surrounded by valley at one side and huge mountain rocks at one side. For the entire journey till Kashmir we were biting our nails, extremely scared. But without any inconvenience we reached Kashmir and our hotel. Kashmir was so good that we were in love with it. Everywhere it was covered with snow. But wondering what unexpected happened, because till now everything was good then.. ? I will tell just have patience. When we reached in Kashmir we were devasted as we got to know that there were no chances of snowfall in Kashmir for 7-8 days. And our tour to Kashmir was also of 7 days. We were like we're in Kashmir and we will not experience snowfall then what's the use of coming in Kashmir?
We're very sad but we thought no problem if we've reached Kashmir then we will enjoy whatever beautiful is there in Kashmir. So, we decided to visit Gulmarg: A famous place in Kashmir, which is immensely beautiful. When we're on the way, a miracle happened. All of a sudden we saw snowfall occuring. We were thinking if we're dreaming? But when we saw on Google we got to know that it is a sudden change in weather, now snowfall will happen and Kashmir. We were at the top of the world, very happy. We reached Gulmarg now and enjoyed there. We threw snowballs on each other, danced in snowfall and most importantly made snowman. Finally, at the end of the day, we reached our hotel and enjoyed the cuisine of Kashmir. It was very different from the food which we ate but still it was yummy. Next day, we went to Dull lake and enjoyed there and we also done boating on a famous boat kind of Kashmir known as " Shikaara". We clicked different photos in Kashmiri dresses. And visited many boathouses. When in the night, we reached our hotel, my brother was searching for famous places in Kashmir and he got a name known as Tulip Garden where many famous films of Bollywood are also shooted.
When we got to know about it we were so excited but we got to know a heartbreaking news and that was, Tulips completely bloom in June or July so Tulip Garden gradually opens in June or July. This news completely broke us. Some days, we visited different and famous places of Kashmir, done shopping and it was our second last day in Kashmir, we were on a taxi we were talking about Kashmir and Tulip Garden's topic came. We were talking that how great it would be if Tulip Garden was open in March also. Suddenly, our driver said, " But Tulip Garden is open!! This year tulips have grown early and that's why it's open from yesterday!." These words were the best words we ever heard on any of our trips. We decided that, the next day that was the last day of us in Kashmir, we will spend it in Tulip Garden. Next day, we reached Tulip Garden and the garden was so beautiful and heartwarming that I just can't tell. The tulips were really cute and dancing with air. There were fountains there and I just can't tell how happy we were. Really, till that time the tour had eventually turned out to be a most unexpected tour but story is not over!
Now what is gonna happen?? After we left from Tulip Garden and reached our hotel for checkout we got to know that very very very huge amount of snowfall had taken place near Jammu and that's why all the railway lines and tunnels were filled of snow. We got to know that our train got cancelled. We're happy as well as sad. Happy because we were getting extra days to explore Kashmir and sad because when will tunnels and railway lines open? Days went on but the tunnels and tracks didn't open. Now we're tensed of how we'll reach our home because our money also started to run out slowly. We were just talking of how we'll reach our home, my brother with the intention of a joke said, " We'll go by plane." But this joke was our way to our home. We decided that we will go home by flight. But for the ticket, we weren't having any money so what to do? Immediately my father got an idea and he called a Travel Agent of our city and asked him to book our tickets and when we'll come we'll return you. The agent booked our tickets and the next day, we're all set to fly to our city!!! We're very very happy as well as excited because it was our first flight travel!!! When we reached the airport and sat in the plane we're feeling so grateful that finally we're going no no no!! Flying to home!!! When the plane took off I was very scared but after some time I was mean to it. We finally reached our city and as soon as we inhaled our city's air we're like Yes!! We're back!!
Really our this tour to Kashmir was the most unexpected one till now of how everything happened was our luck or what? But still we loved our tour and loved Kashmiri people and their tradition and culture too. Really it's true that Kashmir is the heaven of India.
