She sat by herself on the train,

Dressed in khadi saree plain,

Minding her own business,

Oblivious to the comments made.

'Must be a village bumpkin

Cannot speak in English,

First time visiting kith and Kin '...

Gang of youth with manners little,

Chomped on samosas too quick,

One choked entered the windpipe,

Others gasped in sheer fright.

Calmly stood up, smacked his back,

Out came the offending stuff.

Told them in crisp English,

She's a doctor practicing in the village.

Saviour in plain khadi saree,

Swiftly put them to shame.
