I look out. And what do I see?

Two long-tailed cuckoos sticking together thick as thieves.

A beautiful pair romancing in the open, unselfconscious.

As though daring the world to see and understand,

If you love, love unabashedly, without needing to hide behind trees.

  racing through the veins

  love is immeasurable

  lovers hold sacred

They sing aloud till dusk paints the sky rust.

The cuckoo's call raises hope in lovers who lost out.

As if to say, beauty is not what counts.

What matters is the purity of mind, accepting the whole with or without add-ons.

  raising head she sights

  monochromatic canvas

  splashed across with red
