March on...march on...men in fatigues sing along, boots sinking into fresh snowfall, unmindful of the rising pain from shrapnel wounds. Pain swallowed down like bitter bile. Left behind, comrades in trenches killed, without even a funeral.

  pain strikes the weak-willed

  spreads thin as snow over

  hills

  flaked off to quieten

Hummingbirds' trills add to the surrounding music. Double-dose pain cannot be cured with pills.

  glacial feelings sift

  through the sands of time,

  slowly

  nitpicking trending
