Aastha was a very ambitious, lively go getter. She was an achiever in whatever she attempted whether it was studies , sports, music, writing singing, atheletics and the list seemed quite impressive to all. But she had a wonderful hidden talent that was recognised by herself during her teens. Her mother used to buy her colourful trinkets (earings, anklets etc. )whenever possible. She was the only daughter you see , so her parents and brothers used to pamper her with these frequently. Aastha used to collect all these and store in a very colourful bag made by herself from old cloth bits lying at home.

The bag used to attract the attention of. her classmates and so she got few orders too. But she needed a sewing machine to complete this task. Her father immediately bought her a usha sewing machine. She completed the task and gifted all those bags to her friends You guessed it right. The bags were so colourful and well made that she got real orders from her friends and their acquaintances. It was a well deserving reward and recognition for her work out of left over cloth bits. She then approached a local ladies tailor and got cloth bits that were of no use. She even paid some nominal amount for those bits The tailor was happy too Aastha started making bags, cushion covers, bed spreads, out of these bits and sold it among her circle of friends and family. She slowly rented a small shop and set up her business. Ofcourse she had to complete her studies also. She enrolled into correspondence course in languages and got good grades as well. So she graduated with good percentage.

This was another feather in her cap. But there was one more talent that she had to explore , that was making jewelry. The festival of lights gave an opportunity for this. Aasthaa's mother bought her a beautiful pink kurti that was having delicate embroidery patterns on it. Aastha looked for matching earrings in her bag. The colour was so special and she had no matching earrings for that kurti. After thinking for sometime an idea came into her mind.

The kurti had few threads hanging at the end of the border. She slowly picked few threads and stretched them finely. After searching her bag again she found a pair of old earrings that had faded. They were beads not very expensive. So she picked them out. Now the frame and beads could be used to make a new pair of studs. With the help of water based glue(fevibond) she made a circle of those threads and sticked them on the beads and then attached them to the old earrings frame. Voila she could not believe that it looked so attractive and new. When she wore it with her new dress many appreciative remarks and glances made her day. Yes you are right she got many orders and her passion became her business. This is an incredible self discovery.
