Love story 90s and. Onwards     

 Preface ..Love this four lettered word rings the bells in almost all human hearts for sure or for that matter all living beings if I am not mistaken.Few of the love stories become eternal as we browse history and few may go to the altar and the story continues.This story is a real life story which I have seen personally,and wanted to share it and what is the best way other than writing on this platform of story writing .This story happened in a small place which was bordering Karnataka and Tamilnadu and so traditional spices will be visible throughout.Good.reads.                                 It was the month of,'Shiv ratri'the most pious occasion for all Hindus as Lord Shiva is worshipped in temples,homes, pilgrimage places etc.People fast and visit temples during the night or late evening.They light the 'Diyas',offer flowers,chant hymns in honour of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi .                 Vikram entered the temple that was close to his house,and as he put his step forward he slipped and fell on the ground,not with a thud luckily.As he was about to get up and stand on his feet,a gentle touch on his shoulder was followed by a fair and slender hand which was adorned with colourful bangles,offering him support to stand up.He understood it was a female who had lent her hand and as he got up and looked up he saw a beautiful young lady who just smiled and walked away.He felt strange as the young lady did not reciprocate his thanks.He continued moving ahead towards the temple looking around if he could see the lady,and suddenly someone dashes against his arm from front and lo behold,it was the same young lady.As a gesture of saying sorry she pinched both her ears without saying a word.Vikram was surprised once more as he noticed the girl was not speaking anything and was communicating through hand gestures.He noticed the girl was silently muttering something and was looking here and there as if she was searching for someone.He just put his foot forward and the young lady waved her hands and pointed her finger to the ground.Vikram looked down and found a few earthen diyas filled with wicks and oil 🪔 ready to be lit up on that auspicious occasion. Vikram notices that the young lady was waiting for someone.Then he sees another young lady of the same age calling Rashmi where are you? Oh! So your name is Rashmi isnt it? Questioned vikram to the young lady and in response she nods her head smiling making Vikram wonder as to why she wasn't speaking a single word.In response Rashmi smiled and made a sign to wait.Meanwhile her friend Ramya who had gone to get flowers for God came near both of them. Vikram questioned Ramya as to why her friend Rashmi was not answering any of his questions.In reply Ramya in a low voice told him that Ramya could not speak and she was dumb since childhood.On hearing these words Vikram felt sad and cursed himself for asking a question like that.Ramya was walking ahead of Vikram and suddenly she stumbled upon a small rock piece in the pathway of the temple and Vikram in a jiffy held her tightly and prevented her from falling down. Rashmi felt his touch was so electrifying and felt so inclined towards his charm. She felt instant love for him.Just then she saw Rashmi arranging diyas and waiting for Ramya to come and light them.As Vikram and Ramya walked towards her Rashmi,she was feeling shy looking at Vikram. Ramya  explained to Vikram that both she and Rashmi have been the best of friends since childhood and almost like sisters.Vikram agreed that he too felt the same looking at both of them.Rashmi then lit the diyas and completed the puja rituals.They were getting ready to leave when Vikram hesistantly asked for their phone numbers.Looking at their expression of shock, Vikram explained that he was not a road-side romeo,but  an educated and qualified person working with a good position.Then both Rashmi and Ramya agreed to share their phone numbers and promised Vikram that they would stay in touch with him.This started their journey of friendship and ?                                          As all the three moved from there to their own homes with an experience which was never felt before,a smile kept lingering in their hearts that reflected on each one of their faces.                      

Ramya entered her home smiling and muttering something to herself as if she was crooning a song.She entered her room,changed into her night wear and went to sleep.Her mother understood she was tired due to the temple rituals and quietly shut the door of her room.

 Ramya was not asleep but,she was recalling the temple incident where Vikram had held her hand and stopped her from tripping.His touch was lingering in her mind and almost she felt his touch on her shoulder at that moment. She got up with a jerk and understood it was her thoughts about Vikram and she slept thinking about him.

  Vikram too was lost thinking about the incidents at the temple and how  he had started liking Rashmi and would want to meet her more times to know her better and then propose to her for marriage.He picked up the phone to call Rashmi with a smile on his face and as he turned towards the table,he saw his brother Trivikram standing there with a confused look on his face.Vikram said 'when did you come in'? to which Trivikram replied saying "when you were lost in some deep thoughts and smiling".He continued asking Vikram what the matter was?.to which Vikram tried to brush it off saying it was some joke he recalled.Not satisfied with that answer Trivikram tried asking him was it a girl he met or some such thing.Perplexed how correct his guess was Vikram mumbled "yes,it is a girl whom I met in the temple yesterday. She is dumb,but I feel she is the soul mate for whom I have been looking for so long". Trivikram said "wow this is nice.Let me tell mom and dad they will feel happy"."Trivik wait I need to tell you this, the girl whom I met and fell in love instantly is dumb. So,mom and dad may not agree I fear".Trivik said"bro,if you like her and you want her to be your life partner mom and dad will definitely support you.Don't hesitate,you tell them the truth and let us see what they say'.Later in the evening the family sits together and discuss the matter for a long time and by night they come to the conclusion that Vikram can go ahead and propose to Rashmi and rest all can be decided once both the families meet formally.Vikram was elated and he picked up the phone to talk to Rashmi and tell her the good news but,he was hesitant as Rashmi would not be able to talk obviously,so he decides to call Ramya and convey the message to Rashmi.As he called Ramya she was so excited to talk to Vikram and continued blabbering saying that she was so happy to have met him at the temple and his thoughts were chasing her mad.Vikram was shocked and understood that Ramya had got attracted to him.Now,he was in a fix.How could he convey that he was in love with Rashmi while she herself was in love with him(vikram).He wished her good night with a promise to meet both Rashmi and Ramya at the temple in a couple of days time.With a bye on his lips and a confused heavy heart he put the phone down,had his dinner quickly and went to bed.Ofcourse sleep evaded him for a long time and he slept somewhere around midnight thinking how things can be sorted out.It.turned out to be a triangle love which had to squared out as soon as possible.

  Now,there is a twist which is going to.change the entire story.

   Two days later Vikram goes to the same temple and finds both Rashmi and Ramya performing the puja rituals as usual.But,Ramya notices Vikram is more stylishly dressed and well turned up than the last time they met. Both the young ladies felt it was for their sake Vikram had dressed up well and looked more attractive.They were happy for that, Vikram went near Rashmi and wishes her.In response she juggled her colourful glass bangles as if saying she was happy to see him.He goes near to Ramya almost touching her body and whispers something in her ears,hearing which Ramya blushes becoming pink in her face.Seeing all this in front of her Rashmi gets up and goes a bit of distance from them with a face of sadness.Ramya and Vikram keep talking and giggling and now Ramya is sure that Vikram is in love with her and he would propose to her anytime.After sometime they realise it is getting dark and they need to go home.Before leaving Vikram wishes bye to Rashmi and goes away waving to Ramya.Rashmi felt a little bit sad at this gesture of Vikram and tears started rolling down her eyes.When Ramya asked her why she was crying Rashmi just nodded which meant nothing and gestured that they were tears of happiness for Ramya's sake.Both of them hugged affectionately and went back to their homes.   

  The next week saw a very busy schedule of events which happened so quickly one after the other.Vikram revealed his liking towards Rashmi and made his parents agree to the marriage even though she was dumb.His parents were always supportive of whatever their children did and this was not an exception but a happiness booster for them.Ramya was still reeling under the happiness that Vikram was in love with her.That evening when both of them met at Rashmi's home while chatting, Ramya expressed her love for Vikram and even acknowledged that Vikram too loved her Rashmi was shocked on hearing these words. She immediately got up and was in tears again. Even though Ramya kept questioning her for the reason she refused to answer anything but kept numb.Ramya thought that while Rashmi was happy on hearing their love for each other that is between Vikram and Ramya,she might be feeling bad for self as she understood Rashmi too had developed feelings for Vikram which was quite evident whenever his name came up during their conversations.She then said "Rashmi let us do one thing,shall both of us get married to Vikram?We are anyway best friends and almost like sisters so let us become co-sisters by marrying Vikram ".Rashmi was shocked to what she said and very hurriedly ran outside and approached a River that was near their home.Ramya too ran behind her calling out her name as she suspected Rashmi may drown in the River.luckily she caught hold of her and said "let us get married to Vikram,what is wrong with that,we both love him and we can share space as we are best friends.Think about it,and we will convey this to Vikram by evening before it is late".Rashmi sat quiet and was thinking deeply for some time and then she nodded in agreement with a glitter in her eyes.Ramya was relieved,but now there was another big task that of conveying their plan and how Vikram and his family would react to that.

  As both Ramya and Rashmi went back to their home thinking 🤔 about how things have turned out now,she picked up the phone and said that all the three of them had to meet the next day as early as possible to discuss an important development.Vikram immediately agreed amidst Ramya's confusion as to how cool he was before the wedding.She knew he had a liking for Rashmi but had agreed to marry her when Ramya expressed her love for Vikram.It was all so confusing for her.

  Next day Vikram,Ramya and Rashmi met at the same temple.Looking at Vikram both the ladies felt there was some change in the way Vikram spoke and dressed.Vikram had worn very stylish clothes which he usually was not seen in by both Ramya and Rashmi,he wore goggles and was speaking with a slang.Both the ladies assumed it to be because of the marriage that was due,he had changed his way of dressing etc Little did they know that they would be surprised beyond limits in a short while.

  After initial hi and all,Ramya cleared her throat and said"Vikram,I want to tell you something very important about our impending marriage". Vikram casually said"ye,carry on Ramya,I am all ears".Ramya said"We both love you and we both want to get married to you and all the three of us have to live together.Are you okay with it?If not Rashmi was about to jump into the River because she loves you deeply ".Yes,it is okay let us all get married and stay together,look up ladies why are bending your head?you have not done anything wrong."On, hearing these words Rashmi and Ramya were shocked to see two similar looking guys standing in front of them.Ramya and Rashmi recognised Vikram.They were perplexed who the other look alike was.Vikram said"look here ladies,he is my identical twin brother Trivikram who stays abroad.Ramya you actually love him as you are attracted to the ways he dresses up,speaks and behaves,while Rashmi loves me for what I am.Am I right?"

  Both the young ladies were spell bound not knowing how to react to this very pleasant and happy development which they could not imagine even in their dreams.The issue which was troubling their heart and mind ended so quickly and brought a big smile and blushing pink colour on their faces.Both of them hugged their prospective bride-grooms as by now they were able to recognise Vikram and Trivikram by their body language and mannerisms.

  Once everything was made clear they disclosed all the happenings to their parents who were more than happy as both the girls who have been friends for all these years were able to find their love in the same family.What more can any parent or parents expect.

  The marriage date was fixed for 14th February which is valentine day ofcourse but as per Hindu calendars too it is a very auspicious month to perform auspicious occasions like marriage etc.

  This is how valentine day brought two couples together who were wed locked and lived happily ever after.
