An Endless Commitment

This is a unique love story of Anahita and Bayu. Anahita was a single and pampered child of her parents. She studied in a renowned school. She was very studious and very much interested in co-curricular activities. She was always busy with her studies and co-curricular activities in school. Everybody loved her for her polite behaviour and helpful nature. She was never interested in love, love stories and relationships. When she was in 9th standard, a newcomer named Bayu took admission in her class. Bayu was good at sports. According to their alphabetical names, their roll numbers were 5 and 6. Gradually they became friends during their conversations for group projects, exams, etc. Anahita's best friend was Nandini and Bayu called Nandini his sister and thus three of them became very good friends whom the class used to call 'trio'.

One day, Bayu proposed Anahita. As Anahita was not interested in relationship, she refused his proposal and requested him to be her friend only. For a week, Bayu was crying and this made Anahita feel guilty. Out of her guilt, she politely said Bayu, "look Bayu, before the age of 22, I can't go for any relationship. So, let's do one thing, don't cry, let us be in a healthy commitment. The commitment should be that we both would be loyal to each other and after our graduation, we would be in a relationship." Bayu happily agreed to her suggestion. But as Bayu's family was conservative, he had no smartphone, so, neither they could chat in WhatsApp nor they could call each other randomly. The commitment was running smoothly. Bayu used to consider Anahita as his lucky charm and before every match, he requested Anahita to pray for his victory.

After 10th, Anahita took admission in another school. Bayu and Anahita both were very sad because neither they could meet each other nor they could talk now. So, they took coaching classes from the same tutor. Both were very caring towards each other. Bayu used to have his match early in the morning and after that he directly used to come to his coaching classes. So, Anahita used to carry glucose water and cake for him. He sometimes used to gift her soft toys and dolls as she was fond of them. Coaching classes were the only medium for them to talk but they were very happy with each other though they couldn't chat or talk for hours. They were enjoying little and precious moments together.

Slowly and gradually their bond grew stronger. Bayu used to say Anahita during coaching, "see my other friends have smart phones, they can chat and do video call with their friends. But I can't." Anahita said him, " don't be sad, see for you, I haven't bought a new phone although my dad asked me several times. Please don't get upset Bayu, after 12th, we will buy smartphones together and then we will also chat." Anahita did such a sacrifice in this digital world, just for her commitment but it was actually love which she was unaware of. Anahita had a lot of emotions attached with Bayu. She didn't buy her phone so that Bayu never had inferiority complex. Time passed and Anahita finally understood her love for Bayu and it was Bayu upon whom she used to trust blindly. But this sweet love story was not acceptable by time. Everything changed when suddenly Bayu changed. Anahita and Bayu took admission in different Universities.

Things started changing. After admission in University, Bayu purchased a smartphone and very first, he blocked Anahita and Nandini from his contacts. It was a mystery that why suddenly Bayu got changed. May be a misunderstanding, may be pressure from his conservative family or may be now he wanted freedom to enjoy his new University life. Bayu stopped every gates of conversation with Anahita. Anahita's friends tried their level best to convince Bayu but all were in vain. Due to Bayu's sudden harsh behaviour, Anahita started breaking down. She was slowly drowning in the sea of depression. She couldn't bear the pain of separation from Bayu. It was impossible for her to accept the sudden ditch from Bayu.

Anahita used to utter alone madly, "I tried to wipe his tears and he left me with my tears. I didn't purchase smartphone for him and he now blocked me. How could he ditch me? I always prayed for his well being and his victory in matches but now he left me behind in the race of life to enjoy his new life!" Anahita used to cry from dawn to dusk. Her nights were sleepless. Only her pillow could feel her pain. Her every single memory were rolling down her cheeks in the form of tears. Now Anahita was completely broken. She was shattered into pieces. Her heartbreak rewinded every single memory with Bayu within a fraction of second. Anahita promised herself now that, "may be Bayu has changed, but the commitment that we both made, I would alone fulfill that and would be single forever. This would be my 'endless commitment'. I'll never be in any relationship ever." This is Anahita's endless sacrifices, loyalty and her selfless, pure commitment. Still now she is fulfilling her commitment alone. May be with the ravages of time, everything would be wiped off but surely this unique and eternal love story would be alive eras after eras.
