The Prophecy

The Empire of Xandar was flourishing with education, economy, infrastructure, army strength and each and every attribute which makes an empire invincible.

It was all possible because of King Cedric with his exceptional leadership skills, courteous nature, and smartness which made the empire to stand tall. The only obvious downfall to the King’s character is his thirst for battle. The King never backs down from a battle and goes far in the battle that he conquers the empire who tried to attack Xandar. He is very vengeful and arrogant when it comes to conquering lands and does not listen to anyone. This very reason made many countless enemies throughout his reign.

When King Cedric’s wife was pregnant, the astrologer also known as “The Elder" envisioned two prophecies. The first prophecy is an unfortunate fate of the empire falling to its knees at one point in time. The second prophecy is where King Cedric’s unborn baby will die and will be reborn again to avenge his empire’s fall.

King Cedric took all the precautions to avoid this prophecy from coming true. He did not want his heir to die as the second prophecy was not clear on how he would be reborn.

After the death of the queen, Prince Oscar grew with the guidance of his father. The King taught him well and also saw the thirst for battle within the Prince. Soon, Prince Oscar took the position of the King after the demise of his father.

One day King Oscar went out for a week in his usual routine of living ordinary lives with his people. He dressed up in disguise and started working among them. The King bumped into a young lad who almost looked like him. They were both of the same age but he looks like a younger version of King Oscar. After returning to the kingdom from the week-long of hard labor work, King Oscar called for his look-alike. He gave his look-alike a job of a body double because his life might be in danger as foretold by the prophecy. 

King Oscar taught his body double everything from A to Z. The King’s fighting skills, weaponry technique, his personality and the way he walks and talks, etc. everything was learned by the double. The double soon became like a xerox copy of the King. He perfected the King so much that even his personal bodyguards did not recognize the difference. This ensured that nobody suspected him as a body double.

As foretold by the prophecy, the empire crashed down soon as one war was followed by another. The King, his few men and his body double were surrounded by a group of men. The king's soldiers started on the attack. However, they were no match for the enemy. The battle went on and finally, it came down to the King and his double. The enemies targeted the double and struck him down in the chest with a sword. The king launched in front of the double and saved his life. Seeing the king sacrificing himself for a common villager made him angry. The double was flaming with fury and killed the rest of the enemies. 

The Double fell onto his knees in grief and was perplexed why the king would sacrifice himself. Dear o’ mighty king of Xandar. Why would you sacrifice yourself for a commoner like me? Asked the double.

The king replied Blood is thicker than water. Kung Oscar handed over a diary to the double and died. The double read the entire diary and found out that he was hot a commoner but actually the brother to the King. He was indeed Prince Julian the second son of Late King Cedric and Late Queen Helena and brother to present King Oscar.

Prince Julian read the diary if his mother and the truth was revealed. The day of prophecy the elders envisioned three prophecies. 

-The empire would fall 

-One of King Cedric’s son won't live his life to the fullest. 

-The Prince would be reborn to restore the empire

The second prophecy was kept a secret between Queen Helena and the astrologer. The queen who is a peace lover, sent his youngest son to the village so that he would not die in a battle. She chose the second son to live far away because he was born with health complications. The queen also had private guards to look after her second son without anyone’s knowledge. Queen Helena gave her diary to Prince Oscar at her deathbed. King Oscar knew all along about Prince Julian and made him a body double to actually protect him and not to save his own life.

The battle was victorious. The remaining soldiers came near Julian and bowed waiting for his next command. Nobody knew that it was Julian who is alive and it is King Oscar who is dead. Everyone assumed that it was the King’s body double Prince Julian who got killed. Prince Julian wiped off his tears and burned the diary. He placed his sword back into the holster and commanded his soldiers to go back to their home. The soldiers were surprised as usually the battle will be taken forward to the front line of the enemy’s empire and their territory will be taken.

Julian said we have seen enough of death’s today. You soldiers are the heart and soul of our empire. No more blood shall be split unnecessarily from now on!

And thus, King Oscar was reborn, the empire was restored and the prophecy became a legend.
