Who is the most faithful animal ? This question mostly gets the answer that the dog is the most faithful and trusted friend of man. It may not speak but can communicate well through its body language that is the wagging tail, the hurry with which it jumps to the master and how the dog showers it's affection by jumping and furling around the master. Dogs are always known to be the most trustworthy. They do not ask much in return except for a little bit of love and affection. If we go back into the history of mankind and analyse how dogs started to get domesticated one thing we understand is as and when humans started to settle down giving up their nomadic life, dogs became their guards and caretakers. Once domesticated dogs would accompany human cultures down through the centuries to the farthest corners of the world. This means to suggest the bonding between humans and dogs became more thicker and profound as time passed by. Dogs do have a sense of belonging to whoever takes care of them. We hear great instances where dogs have shown exemplary service, courage, dedication, and humane emotions as well. I as a writer would personally like to share an experience where a dog in our neighborhood used to almost participate in all our conversations between friends and families as if it was also a member of the family. The way the dog used to look at everyone talking and nodding its ears and tail would give us a feeling that it was participating in the discussion. Ofcourse this looks funny but it was sort of a true incident. With a dog in the painting by Doughty Thomas (1783-1856)who was a renowned American painter who was the first artist from his native country to specialize exclusively in landscape painting. He mostly enthralled everyone through the native countryside view in his art.

Let us get into reading a story about the relationship between a human being and a dog the loyal friend.

Moti was standing near the river side and staring at something at the distance. This has been a regular habit of Moti for several days. On going near Moti, it was the same expression. People were wondering what was going on in Moti's mind. To ask a question and get an answer from Moti was impossible. No,it was not that Moti was adamant, rigid or anything else. Moti you see was a dog It seemed to be crying as was missing his master Chandan for the past few days. The dog could not express any feelings through words obviously but the earnest glance of Moti and its persistent visit to the river every day was enough for the villagers around to understand what Moti has been going through. Moti had been picked up by Chandan after he accidentally hit it with his bike while Moti was straying onto the road. Chandan felt pity for the dog and he took him to the vet who bandaged its wound and sent him along with Chandan. This was the beginning of a new and very beautiful friendship that was to blossom between a man and a dog.  Chandan was a kind-hearted, noble-minded person. He took a very good care of Moti a stray and the dog was loyal to his master . This relationship was so valuable and all the villagers appreciated Chandan for his gesture.

As time flew Moti grew up to be very strong physically and was well trained by Chandan. .    .  One day Chandan had to go the neighborhood village to attend his friend's marriage . He gets to meet two corrupt men who were very powerful around the neighbouring areas. Most of the villagers dreaded to object to their misdeeds and conceded with whatever their diktats were. While returning back Chandan's vehicle breaks down. It was scorching hot summer and Moti and Chandan were feeling so thirsty. Unable to tolerate the heat anymore Chandan knocks the door of a nearby house. A beautiful young girl opens the door . Chandan is spell bound looking at her beautiful face. On asking why did he knock the door Chandan asks for water. Bijli returns with an earthen pot of cool water. Moti and Chandan quench their thirst and proceed towards the broken vehicle. Chandan somehow manages to get it repaired at a nearby mechanic shop. On returning home he cannot simply forget bijli and her beauty. He confesses this to his best friend Moti who is the silent listener. Then every now and then under some or other pretext Chandan visits Bijli's village and Moti knows what is cooking between the two as he wags his tail on hearing Bijli's name from Chandan's mouth. They both fall in love. But, there is going to be very big trouble in their paradise that is in the form of the Sarpanch's son Sher Singh. He is a notorious person with all bad vices and he has a very lustful eye for bijli. He tries to trouble her in every way possible. On hearing her woes Chandan gets into an altercation with Sher singh only to be beaten very badly by his henchmen. Moti. tries his best to fight off the bad men. His loud barking alerts the other villagers but as they are too scared to confront the gang of bad men they stay away from the scene. The men pick up an unconscious Chandan and dump him in the river. Moti runs towards Bijli's house and tries to bring her to the river by pulling at her saree. But,bijli's father shouts at Moti and pushes him away. Moti is helpless and has been waiting for her missing master, her guardian angel, and her caretaker. That is why every day Moti goes near the River and waits patiently expecting her master would turn up and surprise him. Will it really happen? Let us hope for the best.
