Title:
Surya

In the high, snow-covered mountains of Nepal, there was a small village named Lumbi. The people were simple and kind. Walnut and fig trees grew in abundance all around.
In this serene valley lived a young boy named Chaman Choti.

Chaman had lost his parents when he was little. He remembered almost nothing of their faces—only warmth, like sunlight. In those endless Himalayan mountains, his only companions were Lord Pashupatinath and the glowing sun above.

The elders of the village often said:

“Choti, your mother has become a ray of the sun.”
“Wherever Chaman Choti goes, light follows him.”

Every morning, Chaman smiled at the rising sun.
He would whisper softly:

“Mother… you are so kind. You never leave me.”

When the cold winds of Nepal froze everyone, Chaman’s palms would strangely feel warm—
as if someone held his hands gently.

His life continued because of the kindness of the villagers.

The Royal Announcement
One day, the King declared:

“A new School of Magic and Wisdom will open in the Lumbini Valley.”

But only those children could enter
whose hearts were pure and sensitive.

Chaman Choti was chosen.

The school stood high on a snowy peak.
The narrow paths leading there were covered in white ice.
Colorful prayer flags fluttered in the wind,
and herds of yaks roamed the slopes.

On the first day, Chaman met his teacher — Guru Himprabha.
Her eyes held the calm of snow, her smile the cool quiet of the moon.
Her hair was white and soft like fresh frost.
Her voice flowed like the gentle whisper of a sarangi.

She leaned close and said:

“Magic does not come from spells…
True magic comes from memory and emotion.
If you remember your mother, Surya,
she will protect you always.”

From that day onward, his mother’s love became his mantra.
Every sunrise felt like her warm embrace.

When Chaman extended his hand,
a soft golden glow shimmered from his palm.

Guru Himprabha smiled:

“This is your mother, Chaman Choti.
You have awakened the life-force within you.”

The Harsh Winter
That year, winter came stronger than ever.
Snow covered the entire valley.
Streams froze still.
Animals grew hungry.
Children shivered in the cold, crying.

Chaman looked at the sky,
but the sun was hidden behind thick clouds.

He climbed to the highest peak he could find.
His eyes held faith.
His heart held his mother.

Softly, he spoke:

“Mother… please share your warmth with everyone too.”

And in that moment,
the clouds slowly drifted apart.
The sun broke through, bright and golden.

Warm light poured over the frozen valley.
Snow began to melt.
Streams flowed again.
Animals drank water.
Birds sang freely.
And the children’s cheeks glowed with life.

The villagers gathered around him:

“Choti! Your magic is real!
Your mother is not just in the sky —
She lives inside you.”

Chaman bowed his head in gratitude to Lord Pashupatinath.
He understood the mumbled mantra his teacher had given him:

Magic is not in words.
Magic lives in a mother’s love.

A heart that carries a mother’s warmth
can conquer even the coldest mountain.

Chaman Choti became known simply as Choti,
the shining boy of Lumbi Valley.
The school honored him.
The villagers cherished him.
Even the King awarded him a golden medal.

And from that day onward—
wherever Choti walked,
sunlight gently followed.
