Sky Tree~ Roots Above – A Story ~Inspired by the Gita, Chapter 15
At the edge of Vanmaali village stood an ancient tree.
People called it “The Sky-Tree.”
Its branches hung downward toward the earth,
but its roots seemed to rise upward—
as if they were growing into the sky.
Most villagers thought it was just a strange creation of nature,
but Parth, a thoughtful young boy, felt something different.
Every evening he would sit beneath that tree,
feeling a quietness he could never explain.
One day, a wandering sage came to the village.
He noticed Parth sitting under the Sky-Tree and approached him gently.
“Child,” the sage said,
“this tree has come to teach you the truth of your life.”
Parth looked up curiously.
“But holy sir… trees grow with roots below.
Why are the roots of this tree above?”
The sage smiled.
“Because this tree is not just a tree.
It is the symbol of this world.
Our true roots—our divine source—are above.
The branches—our desires, actions, relationships—grow downward into the world.”
Parth listened carefully.
The sage continued:
“When a person forgets where his true origin lies,
he gets lost in the branches of life.
But the one who remembers his higher root—
who holds on to the truth that nurtures him—
never collapses, no matter what storms come.”
Parth looked up at the Sky-Tree.
Its branches spread everywhere—
some towards pleasure, some towards anger, some towards ambition.
But its root—
that single, glowing connection upward—
felt like a divine hand holding it.
Parth softly asked,
“Holy sir, what does this Sky-Tree want to teach me?”
The sage placed a gentle hand on his shoulder:
“My child, be rooted—
but not downward.
Let your root always remain connected upward.
Your identity, your peace, your strength—
all come from above.
Do not get tangled in the branches of the world.
Be like this tree—strong only because it remembers its root.”
From that day on, whenever Parth felt confused or troubled,
he would close his eyes and remember the Sky-Tree.
Its branches grew in countless directions,
but its root…
always pointed upward—
towards the light.

✨ Essence (Message of Gita Chapter 15 in Story Form)
Our true root is above (the divine consciousness).
Worldly life is like branches—desires, duties, joys, and sorrows.
One who stays connected to the root remains strong.
Clarity and peace come from remembering our divine source.
