HOPE (Child's Inner struggle)
HOPE (Child's Inner struggle)
Hello Readers!!
Did you miss me, well I did missed you all :)
Today I have written something that will not only make you think but question yourself " Are you doing everything right"?
Its a true story of innocence, desire, and hope that one day everything will be alright.
This story is about a girl called "Meher". A very bubbly, happy go around and obedient girl which every parent would desire to have. It was my first day in class and as a trainer I was going to teach them topics based on life skill. So many smiling faces and eagerness to know what are we going to do today, was heartwarming. That was the first time I saw Meher, she was smiling and as the session went , I was surprised to see her participation, her eagerness and curiosity.
Whenever she was in campus I never saw her sad or nervous about anything. I felt all was good. Always after class she discussed about her small queries which were normal like any other child. But something was missing which I felt somewhere. So to ensure that my students were not under pressure, I spoke with them about different situations where they need to decide good and bad for themselves. We spoke about different pressure that we all have to go through be it a child or an adult.
This was the turning point when Meher decided to open up. She burst into tears, I was shocked and asked her " What happened child". She was totally down her memory lane, and wanted to share everything that was disturbing her. But due to another training schedule I couldn't hear her out.
After college we sat down and wanted to hear her completely but she couldn't gather the courage and gave me a journal where her mind and heart was portrayed in different words and pictures.
It was very disturbing, there were lot of questions, self doubt, and sadness . The moment I reached home, the first thing I did was to read that journal. Every page of that journal was like the painful day of her life. Daily parental fights and blaming her for all the trouble in their life was making her loose her confidence. At college she was made the point of discussion based on her heavy weight. This gave her a negative body image in her mind. Consciously or unconsciously she had started comparing herself with other students. Her marks were reducing day by day. An unknown fear was gripping her soul. Only thoughts that lingered in her mind were " What meaning my life has for anyone else". "Am I Worthy" , " Why should I Live". Is anything left for me in this life....She was desperately Looking for some "HOPE" that could give her a reason to live. A secret desire that everything will be all right. My heart was filled with lot of emotions.
Next day I went to college and spoke with her, made her believe that she was the most amazing personality I have ever met. She was confused, I looked at her smiled and said " Bacha you are born fighter, God has given you difficulties so that you can have rest of your life with ease and Fun. Its your test time and with passing days you will learn how to tackle them. The glow in her eyes also gave me "HOPE" that things will definitely change for good and she will come out of it as a fighter.
This story was of one Meher, but there are number of students who are not able to speak up their mind. There is confusion, fear and no one to guide them. As a parent or guardian we need to observe and read their unheard mind. Observe their body language and without judging respond to them with love and care. Maybe you are a HOPE in Someone's life.
