Sangeeta, A "Wonder Women"
Sangeeta, A "Wonder Women"
I am very excited that I got a chance to write this story about a lady whom I call a "Wonder Woman". It's a true story about a hard-working, gentle, and passionate girl who was born in the small town of UP. Currently, she is an IT professional, a mother of two kids, and a loving wife. I met her in 2009, She was my office colleague's wife, the better half.
When I came closer to her, getting to know someone so positive, was very inspiring. I call her Bhabhi, "Sangeeta Bhabhi". They were five siblings in their family. A girl child born in a traditional UP family with so many siblings around hardly got any attention. But she was very close to her elder sister. Her family members gave them the freedom to play and enjoy things of their liking. Her elder sister was a bright child, very studious and there used to be always a comparison. Sangeeta knew her limitations but always believed in herself and wanted to do something different.
Her family wanted her to crack some engg or medical examination but she wanted to do something that she liked. She decided to pursue BSC and then MSC computers. After completing her Masters she got the chance to work with an MNC in Mumbai. Her dreams had come true. Doing something great with her life, standing on her own feet, and finding her identity has come to reality. However, her happy moment came to an end when she came to know that she was going to work in a call center. Being a technical person with a master's and doing a nontechnical job shattered her dreams. Bhabhi was totally broken. She couldn’t share this with her parents because there was fear of what they would think. BPO job was looked down upon in our society especially at that time (90’s).
God always gives us a ray of hope. Something positive is waiting for me, her heart kept saying that. While she was working she met a guy called Sushil. They became good friends. He motivated her to go for further certifications in IT. Bhabhi completed 4 levels of Oracle and became an oracle certified professional. With this certification, her doors to opportunities opened and soon she grabbed a good IT profile through the internal job postings in the same organization.
However, something more was waiting in front of her. Sushil proposed to her but due to other caste issues, no one was ready for their marriage. Sushil and Bhabhi were determined to convince everybody and then get married. After the wait of 4 years, happily or unhappily everyone said yes. She had a new beginning but difficulties were said to stay in her life. Both Sushil and bhabhi got transferred to Bangalore. She got a good offer from another IT MNC and simultaneously a new member was about to add to their family. Among all this chaos Sushil had to leave for the US. She was left alone handling so many responsibilities. It was a tough phase but happily, she sailed through it. They were blessed with a baby boy. Now life was smoothly moving on. Sushil was back; both were handling their responsibilities equally. After a few years, bhabhi was going to have another child. She was in a dilemma, whether to continue her job or leave it. It was becoming tough but Sushil was on her side.
He said, “It’s your call, but you should never regret in life that you left your career for someone”. I am always going to be there for you no matter what.
She continued her IT career and embarked on a new passion too, that was "Baking". Now she was not only an IT professional but also a part-time Baker doing it from the comfort of her home. Sushil and Sangeeta had always stood together hand in hand no matter how difficult the situation might have been. Both their kids are doing great. They have moved to the UK now and living their life of a dream.
She has always inspired me with her actions, her way of handling relations, be it, family or friends. A lady who can play her every role with such ease and comfort that you will always want to be on her friend's list. She is a firm believer that "During the time of problem's a person should look for the solution and not cry around it"
That's why I call her my "Wonder Women"
