Dr. Nitya -VI

IN CONTINUATION WITH MY EARLIER STORY DR NITYA - V, DTD. 16 / 07 / 2021.

Their flight landed at Delhi army campus at flight station in the evening at 17: 20 hrs. and vehicle dropped them at their quarters turn by turn. 

It was such a relaxing feeling after reaching. dr. Nitya decided to take some rest. In the morning she already had informed Surekha to come in the evening to cook dinner and help in other work like cleaning, washing clothes, and to keep her uniform ready for duty for the next day. 

Next day morning as usual dr. Nitya went to the hospital on duty.

Dr. Chaitanya, Dr. Varun, and other colleagues were also there, they greeted each other and checked files of patients, and started with their daily routines like morning round in wards to visit patients.

After daily routine work, Dr. Nitya came to the duty room cabin and did some administrative work that they were supposed to do.

She checked if she need to order medicines and other things from stores, also she checked her emails and replied to them.

Dr. Chaitanya came to dr. Nitya asking if she need any help, any instructions for him about the patients'  file which she had to hand over to him  before leaving.

They sat and discussed each file in brief, as all-important instructions were written on the first page which is as per the rule.

Dr. Nitya gives necessary instructions to her junior doctors and nurses. Dr. Nitya meet her senior and leave for home.

Dr. Chaitanya asked if any other thing that I can do for you, you can tell me.I have free time in the evening after going home. So she happily said yes I have to do some shopping so if you can come with me then nothing like it. I will tell Surekha that you are coming for dinner so that accordingly she will keep dinner ready. 

After going home in the evening dr. Nitya gets ready and as decided dr. Chaitanya and dr. Nitya go for shopping.

Dr. Nitya's mother had given some list that she wanted from Delhi.

Also dr. Nitya does her own shopping for dresses for her and her family, Also dr. Chaitanya get sweets from ' Delhi Sweets ' that he knew are the favorite sweets of dr. Nitya's mother.

Both dr. Nitya and dr. Chaitanya come home, it was almost 10 o'clock.

After a long time, they spent much free time together and enjoyed each other's company.

Both had dinner together, Chaitanya had to leave now but they had many things to talk about and discuss before Nitya leave for home.

Nitya tells Chaitanya that I am going to make a decision about marriage during this trip, I mean I know my decision but it is all depending on what you decide.

Dr. Chaitanya looks at her with a smile and ask her if she can talk more clear on this so she says fine we can discuss this on the phone once I reach home.Both agree on that.

Dr. Chaitanya give a warm friendly hug to dr Nitya to assure that he is positively thinking about her and take her leave.

Dr. Nitya do some packing of her bags because the next day morning she had train at 10:55 for Trivendram.

She was so excited to go home and meet her parents.

Also, she had informed her friends Lalitha Nair and Yamini Iyer, her best friends since her school time, and both married and settled in Trivendram itself. 

Nitya's elder sister too was going to come from Chennai with her little daughter and stay with them for a week or so. Dr. Nitya was looking forward to a nice good time at Trivendram, but at the same time, she knew that she has to face some marriage proposals that her mother was talking about. 

Nitya goes to sleep after packing bags thinking about dr. Chaitanya.The

next day morning Surekha was going to come to prepare breakfast and make some homemade food for Nitya for travel. 

Dr. Nitya gets up early in the morning,

read the newspaper, do her routine work and get ready and Surekha also was there as told to her.

Dr. Nitya gives her some instructions regarding her plants and tell her to take care of her plants in her absence.

Surekha was quite trained now so she knew about other things,food items that she has to make.

 It was decided that dr. Chaitanya was going to come to her place in the morning to have breakfast with her and go to the railway station with her. As soon as he enters he ask questions as usual,

' is your packing over? Have you checked properly? Is your medicine kit checked,or should I? You are an army doctor and can be of help to any passenger traveling by a train.

Dr. Nitya nod positively. 

On the way to the railway station, both of them were almost silent.

After reaching there they checked,

it was correct that the train will be arriving on platform no. 2 so they directly reached on platform no. 2.

Dr. Nitya look for two chairs to sit for them as ten minutes' time was still there.

Dr. Chaitanya asked her if she need anything so she said,

' no Chaitanya, sit here.Why are you behaving like this ? as though I am not going to come back. so he said with a little smile on his face,' Nitya,it is not like that.Just that I am going to miss you a lot.

' so dr Nitya said,' ya even I am going to miss you but only thing is that I will be with family and friends. But Chaitanya,

what if I like someone and get engaged? So Chaitanya didn't say anything but his expression was like,

no Nitya you can't do this to me ' so she said, hey I was just kidding yar. '

Before they talk further there was the noise of a whistle of the train which was arriving on platform and passengers were getting ready with their luggage,

both of them also get ready and go further to go inside, A1 coach. 

Dr. Chaitanya also go and sit inside and after Nitya settle on her seat he holds her hand and says it finally,

' i could have sent you with an engagement ring in your hand but I don't want to force it on you,

I want to give you enough time to think,

nor I want to put you in an embarrassing situation in front of your parents.

My parents also don't deserve such a surprise which they may or may not like.

Dr. Nitya gets tears in her eyes but she hides it and tell immediately to dr. Chaitanya to get down well before the train start.

Dr. Chaitanya wishes her a nice safe journey and ask her to inform him once she reaches Trivendram and keeps in contact.

Dr. Chaitanya stands there till the train move from the station,

and wave his hand to say bye to dr. Nitya.

She was feeling bad for him.

Dr. Nitya had to spend two days on the train so she had thought of taking good rest,

read a good book and listen to some good music.

The third-day train reaches Trivendram at 4: 50,

just 5mnts before time.

She gets down and decides to have a cup of coffee.

She had already informed her father not to come.

Nitya gets one cup of coffee for her,

she thinks of calling Chaitanya but then it was just 5 o'clock and she didn't want to disturb his sleep.

She had already booked a cab for 5:15 so she come out and wait for a cab.

The cab arrives in time so in next 40 minutes.

So approx at 6:00, she reaches home.

Her parents already were waiting for her at the gate. 

Dr. Nitya was so happy to see her parents,

she inquires about their health.

She go inside and wanted to see each corner of the house as she was seeing it after many months.

Her mother asks her to brush her teeth so that she can prepare coffee for three of them so Nitya goes to see the backyards garden while brushing her teeth.

Her mother comes to the living room with coffee mugs so before sipping a coffee Nitya calls dr. Chaitanya and tell him that she has reached safely and will WhatsApp him in the evening because she knew he must be busy at this time and the whole day.

Nitya had many things to talk about and discuss with her parents, she also ask about her neighbors and their well-being.

Nitya's mother had already decided menu for lunch and she gets busy in the kitchen.

She wanted to make favorite dishes of Nitya as she knew that how she must have missed homemade South Indian food in Delhi.
