THE AFFLICTED LIFE

Note: I wanted to take a change in my typecast Thriller, Crime, Romance and Drama genres. Henceforth, I have wrote this comedy story, inspired from my own life events...

In Bhagavad-Gita Lord Krishna said that everything happens for a cause or good reason. Whatever happens in life happen for good and there is always a cause or reason behind that. He also mentioned that we all are children of God, the one creator. God is supreme power and this world is governed by him.

SITRA, COIMBATORE- AUGUST 1, 2021- 9:00 AM

Having completed one year through online classes in the situation of Covid-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021, students continued to attend online classes. As usual, students come ablaze to the online class.

Their mindset seemed to showcase no interest in attending online classes. Rather, they are interested to attend physical classes. The same case here in the life of Akhil.

He really misses those days, that he have spent in physical classes. Akhil really hates the online classes and feels a complex that, nothing is thought-provoking.

2:00 PM: FEW HOURS LATER:

Having finished the classes without showing any interest, he sits in the chair to have lunch. While having lunch his father Shiva asked him: "Son. Take a spoon, that have been kept near the sugar box da."

Since, Akhil have been thinking about his school life, he mistakenly takes a spoon, that's kept near the cooker. Angered his father asked him: "Are you senseless? Did you listen properly? What did I tell you da? I told you to bring a spoon, kept near the sugar box."

Akhil takes it from the sugar box and gives him.

"First try to listen properly. Observation is a must in everything. Orelse, no one would respect you or give you any work in the future." His father told him.

Akhil shakes his head as his father continued to give him advice. Fifteen minutes aftermath, Akhil sees a notification that have came to his phone.

It's a group of photos that was sent by his close friend Raghuram, who is a visual communications student in PSG College of Arts and Science. However, he too attends online classes.

The photos are taken in reunion party, held before few days during Christmas festivals. Akhil now recalls his memorable days during school days.

FEW DAYS BACK, 2017:

Akhil's family were in Erode, for studies. Since Akhil suffered ADHD problems during childhood days, he is basically an introvert. His character is quite complex. None could analyze how he could behave. Because, he behaves aggressive at times. At time, he behaves normal.

He didn't have much talent in his school days. This is often ridiculed by many people around him. His friends supports him at times and mocks him at times, which is not taken by him easier and goes afflicted.

One day during the Maths class, his close friend Harshith failed to complete his homework and his teacher have got him sit down.

While writing, his teacher notices him drawing X-like picture in the notebook and tells him, "You bastard. Instead of drawing construction line, you are drawing X-like picture. I feel like giving you chap uh chap uh chap uh..."

Students in the class stats laughing and Raghuram too laughed for this. But, Akhil remained silent. He didn't felt like laughing for this comedy.

Then, during their last day in the corridor of the toilet, Manenthra and Raghuram took Akhil with them. There, Manenthra tells Raghu, "Raghu. Akhil have kept a timing name for Nikhil, you know?"

"What name da is it?"

"That's a big comedy da! I felt like laughing still more." Manenthra said laughing uncontrollably.

"What comedy da?"

He tells about an event, where Akhil have been studying about a sperm concept. At that time, Kabinesh have seen it and asked him, "Hey. Change it da. I am not able to see it."

"Why da? You have an experience ah?" Akhil asked him.

Manenthra and two more have laughed at this and Kabinesh warned him saying, "Akhil. Be silent da. Don't go too much."

He remained silent afterwards of it. Few days later, he accidentally called Kabinesh with the name "Testis." Manenthra laughed at this and upon hearing this, Raghuram starts to laugh uncontrollably.

Then, seeing Akhil, they asked him: "Akhil. It's mass name da. Ok. I heard that, you have kept a name for Rishi Kumar. What's that name?"

"Komana Kumar...." Akhil accidentally reveals the name, to which Raghuram uncontrollably laughed and tells, "Komana Kumar...."

PRESENT:

Akhil forgot the further memorable days and failed to remember further. Henceforth, he goes to his room and takes a diary in order to know about the times of his school days. After a ten-minutes of search, he comes across a dilapidated diary, in which he have written some memorable moments during his school days in Pollachi.

2015, POLLACHI DISHA SCHOOL:

During 2015, Akhil was studying in Disha School. He was getting good and was earning the name as an average student, breaking the stereotype image as a poor student. At that time, he got an opportunity to do a stage programming, along with his friends Janani, Gowshik, Nikhil Reddy and Dinesh respectively.

He was given that of a comedy role as a friend for Dinesh. Nikhil came as a lorry driver in the stage role. Akhil came along with Dinesh in a bike and in the process, he slipped down.

Akhil emerged from a lorry beneath and told, "Huh. I am unable to see through eyes."

"Haa. Now, I am able to see..." He sees everyone around. The lorry driver asked him, "Hey. Have you told in your house? Idiot."

"Haa. I am going for USA, UK. I should tell to my family. Go man. You nonsense."

"Hey. Why did you take that lemon da?"

"It was tasty. That's why I took it. Additonally, you have pinned it in the lorry. That's Okay. Why did you pin that in lorry da?"

"To ensure that, lorry goes well!"

"Is it? You fools. In that 350 spare parts itself, the lorry won't go with the speed range of 60 km/ph. Will this lemon alone make it go faster?"

Then, a police officer scene comes and interrogates about the problem. Akhil seemed to manage the problem. As he is asked to pay a fine, Akhil tells: "I know IG very well."

The police officer salutes him.

"Greetings brother."

"But, he doesn't know me." Akhil said by turning back. His expressions, signs and speech made everyone around the place to laugh. He got acclaimed for the stage performance.

Another incident then comes through his mind, at present. It's an incident from his 11th class in Tamil.

His teacher have been taking a class on Grammar. At that time, he have been asking the students, "If ஆய் comes, what would come in return?"

Everyone starts to laugh after hearing this. One of Akhil's benchmate then replied saying silently, "Bad Smell would come sir."

The next day, during the lunch time, Akhil goes to his classmate Rahul. As he seemed to be tired, he openly asked him: "Rahul eh. Is your sperm paining ah da?"

Everyone becomes shocked with this type of a question from him. Even Kabinesh is shocked. He angrily thrashed him and told to one of their classmates, "He have start ed to use bad words and languages nowadays da."

"Hey. You don't sit in this class da. Go out da." One of his friends Rithik Charan told at him, by laughing.

Two more incidents then, striked out in Akhil's mind. One incident is during the last day of exam training for English exam, which was first one for them in 11th Public.

When mam was giving guidance to students, one of Akhil's friend Deepak was chattering and making fun along with his friends by laughing and kidding.

The teacher got angered and said, "For a good cow, it would understand when we give one beatings for that."

"Hey, Deepak." Some of the friends laughed by telling him.

"Shut up. You nonsense people." The teacher shouted at them. Everyone became silent. Then, the teacher said, "Go and give your mark report to a hotel. They won't even give you a job of cleaning the table. All are good-for-nothing characters."

She advised them for fifteen minutes and finishes guiding them. Then, during the break, Akhil is told by Dhivakar: "Hmm. She have advised us for fifteen minutes da."

"Deepak eh. Did you get benefited by the advice ah?"

"Yeah. I got benefitted da. I have planned to study well." He showed shower of laughter.

"Who da? You ah? Haa! You won't even sit for a while and study in house. But, you would score good marks ah?" Kabinesh said and laughed at him.

"Ambi. You are a brilliant student only da. Excellent student, etc, etc..." Dhivakar and Deepak said.

"For you, no problems da. Woke at 5:30 AM daily. Study Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata, Ramayana, slogans, etc. Hence, you got concentration and get good marks. For, we are not like such eh!" Akhil said.

Kabinesh stared at him implying to him, "You are not studying well. I should believe that ah?"

Akhil goes silent.

FEW DAYS LATER, 12 JUNE 2019:

Few days later, Akhil was sitting with his friend Rahul. He was his benchmate at that time. It's an incident that occurred in 12th. The same Tamil teacher was taking class about a poem. Akhil sat ablaze and forgot that, class was going on.

"Akhil. Stand up." The teacher said to him and further asked, "Tell me, what I was telling till now about the poem."

"Sir. An elephant gone into the field of rice and broken the rice to pieces. It tried to harm the people.....tried to break the tr...tree..."

"How would that elephant look like da? Like you ah?"

"Sir. Like he, it would look sir." Akhil said, by pointing out at Rahul. Everyone starts to laugh at Rahul and said to him, "Hey, Rahul eh."

The teacher came and gave a beating for Akhil telling him, "You are teasing him by pointing his weight ah? You are itself looking 85 to 74 kilogram da." Everyone started to laugh at Akhil.

Akhil have one more funny incident through his diary. During the last day of public exam in 12th, government have announced for lockdown. Students have been asked to be safer.

That time, some of the Computer Science students block told, "Hey. Be careful da. Our Daniel have Corona." One of the friend Raghavan mocked at him, by ridiculing the Corona Virus pandemic. Even Commerce block students laughed and ridiculed the lockdown measures of Government.

Furious at this, teachers gather around and one of the HOD tells, "Are you all senseless? How could you all be like this? Government is struggling to know what to do and how to manage the pandemic situation! We don't know what would happen further, if lockdown comes. But, you all are enjoying without worrying about anything."

Several teachers scolded them and a few hours later, one of the students told, "Haa. It's something this government is going to do good for us."

Akhil then told them by laughing, "Even in this Covid-19 pandemic, they are going to loot public money, resources, etc, etc."

"Hey. You have left the tasmac bar eh da! Rajiv said to him.

"Yes yes. Bar citizens would miss beer. They would gather around as a crowd in future if the bar is opened again." Rahul said by laughing.

"Rahul eh. I think you are having an experience in drinking?" Akhil asked by touching his cheek with a crazy smile.

"Hey tell da bheema. Are you having that habit ah?" Deepak asked him.

"Shut up and go da, you cow." Rahul replied to him.

"Hey, Rahul eh? See da, our Sangu Nagar Don have done mass scene by warning Deepak." Akhil and Dharane said to everyone, by touching Rahul's big stomach.

PRESENT:

At present, Akhil suddenly wakes up from his chair by opening his eyes. He sees his father standing besides and stands up feared.

However, his father have been doing some works alongside the place. His mother asked him to get some milk of 3/4th litre, to which he agreed and goes to get the milk.

However, he mistakenly gets 1/2 litre and his father scolds by telling him: "If you forget things, try to remember it by taking in a colour note. Or try to ask it again by observing closely. It's must needed for us during these pandemic days. Or else no one would give you a job in the company."

Akhil sits down upset for sometimes. But, he suddenly takes his phone and goes inside Whatsapp chats for sometimes. At that time, he sees a sticker of his collegemate. It's Surya's sticker with a tagging @PSG Arts Kiran. The words in the WhatsApp is, "Enga Irundhu da Varinga?"(From where are you all coming da?)

After five minutes, Kiran have sent a message that, "From Thondamuthur, SKP Apartments."

"Manangetta Punda(Shameless Fellow)." One of the friends have sent him a sticker, told by Vadivelu. Akhil starts to laugh at the message, silently.

During the night time, his father asked Akhil: "Are you going to sleep?"

"Yes daddy. Good night." He said to him, to which he replied saying: "Good night, my son."

At that time, Akhil sees a news in the TV. The reporter tells, "Today's important headlines. Education Minister Joseph Selvam told that, colleges would re-open by September 1, 2021."

"Anyways, they would tell that colleges and schools won't reopen due to the rising cases of Corona pandemic." Akhil said and turned off the TV channel.

That time, he sees one of his friend's memes of the same with a Vadivelu sticker mocking the re-opening of college by saying: "They have made our life miserable with these frequent news, which have never taken place, since the last year."

Akhil replied to his friend by putting a laughing emoji saying, "What you told is 100% fact da. Our life is miserable as well as afflicted. We have to lead an afflicted lifestyle, till the pandemic gets over." He goes for sleep.

While sleeping, a quote from Bhagavad Gita hits in his mind: "Human Life Is Full Of Battles: Never Shirk In fear – Fight To The Last, Stand Your Ground. The Supreme Power has created an even human being in a separate way – or will we say, Everyone is a Masterpiece. When every action you do turns negative against your goal, do not shirk in fear. Do not expect results."
