KUNIYAMUTHUR, COIMBATORE

Time is exactly 8:54 at night. Neha Nixon was sitting in the living room with her family. At that time she received a message in her Instagram app. Seeing that Neha Nixon got up and started to talk in the landline phone.

After talking she took her handbag and got ready to go out. Now her family members asked: “Where are you going?”

Neha said: “I got work” and left the house. She’s taking articleship for 21 months in a Company Secretary office at Gandhipuram. Now she left the house to go for ROC office.

Now the next day morning near Ukkadam Lake side, a man went for walking with his dog and in that mud road before him he saw something was lying down. When he took a clear look of that he came to know that it was a dead body of a women.

Immediately he called 100 and in a few minutes Inspector Balakumaran arrived there. The girl was shot in the back side of the head and lying dead in a pool of blood. It’s none other than Neha Nixon.

Now Bala, who started the investigation secured the crime scene. Immediately forensic team came to the crime scene and collected all the evidence. Neha was totally shot three times and one of them in the head was in the execution style. Then there were two bullet shell cases and a shoe was missing in her right leg. But there was no mud in her right foot. However, there was a lot of bruises in her knees.

Neha was shot three times but only two bullet shell cases were in the crime scene. Bala doubted: “whether she was first shot at somewhere else and after that she was dragged from there and was shot two times there. Because of that she had lot of bruises in her knees.”

Likewise exactly 20 feet away from where Neha’s body was found, Bala found two empty beer bottles. But he didn’t know whether the beer bottles were linked with the murder. Also in Neha’s body other than her hair a short hair was found. There was no sign of Neha being raped.

Now without leaving any small thing all the suspicious things were been collected. After that a shocking news was waiting for Balakumaran, who started the investigation. He might not be shocked. But Neha’s family was very much shocked.

When Balakumaran checked Neha’s background, he came to know that she was a prostitute. Neha lied to her family that she was doing Article-ship for 21 months in Company secretary office. She was doing call girl work. Since it is a very dangerous job, the suspect list of Bala became very large.

Investigators found Neha’s car four kilometer away in a parking lot. Like Bala thought the another bullet shell case was in that car. He confirmed that Neha was shot inside her car. All the windows in the car had blood splatters. Inside the car, there was an unopened beer bottle of same brand which was found in the crime scene.

The blood under the car door, proved that after Neha was shot she was dragged outside the car. Also her missing shoe was under the car’s driver seat. Now to find the killer Bala started to trace who sent the message in Instagram.

SOWBHAGIYA NAGAR, SITRA

3:50 PM

Bala found that it came from 27-year old Adhithya’s apartment. When Bala investigated Adhithya, he said: “Sir. I have nothing to do with this.” According to his alibi, when this incident happened he said: “I was in my apartment.” But Balakumaran got search warrant and started searching his house.

There 380 calibre pistol was found which was used in the crime scene. Inside a drawer, some blocked pages in Instagram was found in Adhithya’s phone. The blocked pages were the accounts of the escort call girl services. Beyond all this there was a pair of boots.

Forensic team examined that boots in microscopic level. In the bottom of the boots they found high impact blood splatters. When they took DNA and PCR test on the blood, it was confirmed that it is Neha’s. The killer wore that boots at the time of murder.

Now next Balakumaran tested the pistol which was found in Adhithya’s house. It is a semi-automatic pistol. When the forensic team compared it with the shell cases found in the crime scene, it was 100% confirmed that using the same pistol Neha was murdered.

Balakumaran got more than enough evidence. While, Adhithya’s father Ponnuswamy is shattered. He bashes his son for damaging his reputation in the society in front of the police.

All the evidence pointed that Adhithya was the killer. However, he continuously said: “Sir. I didn’t do it. I has nothing to do with that.”

Balakumaran found another shocking news, at the same time. Three days before Neha’s murder a similar incident happened. To see a client a call girl went to an apartment. When she went the whole apartment was dark. There was no lights in that apartment. Instead of lights the whole house was filled with candles.

Now the call girl slowly went inside the apartment and saw her client. Now the client who was standing in the hall asked to remove all her dress. The girl also removed all her dress. After she removed her dress, in an unexpected time the client took a knife. He threatened the call girl to give all her money. The girl gave all the money and escaped from the apartment in inners.

Knowing this Balakumaran asked Adhithya: “Whether you did this too? Tell me.”

Now, Adhithya started saying a story which no one can believe. Even a child won’t believe that story. He said: “Sir. Someone took my boots and pistol. After committing a murder again came and kept it in my house. Someone is trying to frame me.”

Now Balakumar showed Adhithya’s photo to the call girl, who escaped in inners from her client. He asked: “Hey. Whether is he the one whom you saw that day?”

“No sir. He is not the one” said the call girl. She selected another man’s photo near that. The Call girl said to Balakumaran: “This guy only threatened me that day, sir.”

When Balakumaran asked the call girl to show the apartment she went that night, like he thought without showing Adhithya’s apartment, she showed another apartment few distance away from Adhithya’s apartment. Because of this Bala was confused and started searching that apartment.

The name of the person who was in that apartment was Afsal Muhammad. The call girl identified his photo only. Now when Bala went inside the apartment like the call girl said, they noticed that there was no electricity in that apartment. He further, saw an important evidence that would change the direction of this case. Inside that apartment, there was same beer bottle brand which was found in Neha’s crime scene.

When Bala checked Afsal’s background, he came to know that he was a drug addict. Now the collected beer bottle was sent to the forensic lab and the serial number in that beer bottle, and the two beer bottles which was found in the crime scene, and the serial number of the beer bottle which was found unopened in Neha’s car, was in the same batch.

Bala recalled the unbelievable story said by Adhithya. Adhithya said another thing with that story.

“Since there was no electricity in my friend’s apartment, recently for the past two days he was staying in my apartment sir.” That friend is none other than Muhammad Afsal.

Now when Balakumaran connected all the information they got, everything was clearly visible to him of what might have happened that day. The unbelievable story which Adhithya said is true. Adhithya didn’t do this murder. Muhammad Afsal did it.

Afsal who was addicted to drugs, without having money to buy it called the escort call girl service. He asked the call girl to come to his apartment. After that he said: “There’s no current in my apartment.”

Afsal went to Adhithya’s apartment temporarily and there he saw Adhithya’s pistol. That day he called the escort service and booked a out dating. The call Afsal made went to Neha.

Afsal went with Adhithya’s pistol and boot. When he went he bought a case of beer. After meeting Afsal, Neha took him in her car. As soon as he got in, she drove the car to an isolated place without human traffic.

After stopping the car in a place both of them started drinking beer. After drinking the beer suddenly Afsal took out the gun and pointed at Neha’s head. He asked all the money she had. But, Neha said: “I don’t have money.” Because of this Afsal became angry and shot her head.

After that Afsal dragged Neha out of the car and put her in the mud road. He again shot her two times. After that he left Neha’s car few distance away and went to Adhithya’s apartment as if he knows nothing.

Afsal kept Adhithya’s boots and pistol in the same place. He tried to frame Adhithya in this case. But Afsal didn’t know that the beer he drank is going to get him caught. Afsal was arrested by Balakumaran. While, Adhithya gets released from the prison after the court apologized to him for framing him up wrongly in this case.

Ponnuswamy apologized to his son, to which Adhithya said: “No need your apologies dad. All was my mistake. I didn’t know the cruel reality of this world. But, this harsh lesson in my life taught me to understand how selfish this world is.” They both embraced each other outside the court.

EPILOGUE

If Balakumaran didn’t investigate this case deeply means, innocent Adhithya might be caught in this case. Because of the brilliant investigation of police and forensic team, the true killer was identified in this case.
