THE SILENT SCREAMS

7:00 P.M. RISHIKESH, UTTARAKHAND

In Vanantra resort, which was in between bushes, trees and grassland, 25-year old server Abhinav was pushing a dinner trolley to a room. On the way in a room, he heard a women crying. Because of that he went towards that room and through the half open door he saw what is happening. 

A 19 year old receptionist Gobiga Bhandari's mouth was closed by a 30-year old youngster. The youngster was also trying to snatch her phone. Seeing this, Abhinav was shocked and a few minutes later he took a deep breath and walked away from there. Suddenly he heard room locking sound. Even though without turning back he went and served the dinner. He came back 1 hour later.

Now the same youngster locked that room. His hair and dress was crushed. No sound was coming from that room. Abhinav noticed that it was very silent. While thinking what happened to Gobiga, he crossed that room. 

FEW MONTHS BACK

In 2003, November 11, Gobiga Bhandari was born in Srikot, Uttarakhand. Even though she was born in a poor family, from childhood her parents taught her not to steal, lie or do evil to others. They raised her as a honest girl. After studying hard and going to a job, she dreamed of giving her family a good life. After school she joined hotel management in a private college. 

Gobiga thought that she can go to a good job after completing this course. But suddenly she had a hard situation. They suddenly fired Gobiga's father from work. Since only her father is working in their family, house rent, family expenses and education of Gobiga and her brother, without money for all this they suffered. 

Gobiga thought about everything and decided to not continue her studies. She discontinued from her college. Also she decided to go for a work, and started searching for job. At that time in Vanantra resort, she saw a female staff receptionist ad in newspaper. She applied for that job and in a few days, she got a reply to come for a interview from that resort. Since she studied hotel management for a few days she prepared well and went.

Seeing the other people who came for the interview, Gobiga started feeling that she might not get the job. But opposite to what she feared, they selected her and the resort manager gave her the appointment order. Also if they have to come to Gobiga's house from that resort means, she has to travel about 100 kilometers. To compensate the travel expenses, they gave her a free room to stay at the resort. Because of this her family became happy. With a dream of living a good life, they sent off Gobiga to Rishikesh. 

PRESENT

But after this in the next one month, unexpected incidents begins to happen for Gobiga. After she went to the resort, daily at dinner time, Gobiga will usually call her parents and speak. Since her father didn't receive any call that day, he called her mobile. But even after a while her number was switched off. At first he thought that there might be no charge in her mobile and as time passed he became suspicious and called the resort manager. Since the manager didn't attend the call, his wife and son became panicked along with him. 

After that Gobiga's father called her friend Pushap and said about it. Now Pushap called her. But there was no response. Since there was no response, Gobiga's mother said: "I am scared. Something is wrong." She said to Gobiga's father that they have to go to Rishikesh immediately. Since it's nearly midnight, Rishikesh bus facilities was not available at that time. They waited till morning, and went to the resort in the first bus. 

Since Gobiga was not there in her room, they were shocked. When they enquired about this to her colleagues, they said: "Gobiga was not feeling well. So manager Saurabh Gupta took her to the hospital. They haven't returned yet." At the same time, Gobiga's friend Pushap received a call from the manager. 

In that the manager asked: "Who are you? Who you called me many times?"

For that Pushap said: "Sir. I am Gobiga's friend. Her phone was switched off from yesterday. That's why I called to enquire. Whether Gobiga is at the resort?" 

For that the manager said: "She went missing. We were searching for her." Upon hearing this Pushap was shocked. He asked in surprise, "What are you saying? How did she went missing?"

For that the manager said: "She fainted while working. When we were taking her to the hospital she became conscious. She started screaming like a crazy person and when we stopped the car, she pushed us and ran away from the car." 

Hearing this Pushap couldn't believe it and asked, "Why her mobile is switched off?"

For that the manager said: "There is no charge in her mobile since yesterday. Also her phone is with me. We are searching for Gobiga. We will call you later." He asked Pushap to inform this to her parents and hung up the call. 

Immediately Pushap said this to Gobiga's parents who was waiting in the resort. Hearing this her parents started crying. Also to the manager who came to the resort after a while, they asked where Gobiga is. For that the manager said the same answer as he said to Pushap. He consoled them not to panic and they will definitely find Gobiga. But her parents didn't believe it. They knew that something bad had happened. Without waiting, they immediately went to the police to complaint. 

But the police usually said, "Your daughter might have run away with someone. She will call. So wait for two days." (In foreign countries if a child or women went missing, each second after that, is called golden hours. Because how fast they take step, without happening anything to them they can find them alive soon.) 

They didn't even file FIR. But without leaving it, Gobiga's parents went to different police stations and asked to file FIR. But no one took the complaint seriously. No FIR were filed in any of the stations. Because of this Gobiga's father became angry. Along with Gobiga's friends and Pushap, they started to protest in front of Uttarakhand DGP office. This came to media's knowledge and the news became viral.

After this on September 22, police started the investigation about her. But the next day on September 23, some part of the resort was demolished with a bulldozer. Including the room where Gobiga stayed some rooms were burned. Knowing this the police said that they were trying to destroy the evidence and arrested the bulldozer driver Deepak and investigated him.

Deepak said: "MLA Renu's PA asked me to demolish the resort room, sir." 

Now the police came to know that the MLA said by Deepak is from Bharathiya Janatha Party(BJP). Because of this the Congress party protested to dismiss that MLA and it became a very big issue in the media.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thought that, it shouldn't become a clash within two political parties. Without any involvement of the political parties to investigate Gobiga's case freely, he appointed a special investigation team. Like the bulldozer driver Deepak said, if the acquisition against MLA Renu is proved, he assured that MLA Renu will be dismissed immediately. 

After that police started their investigation again. As a first step, they kept the seal to that Vanantra resort. At this time when the issue became serious, on September 2024, police received information that a body was found in Chilla river. Immediately police went to that river. They recovered that dead body which was unidentifiable and bloated and sent it to autopsy.

In the autopsy report it is confirmed that it is Gobiga's body and the cause of death is suffocation due to drowning. But before that she was brutally tortured and raped. Already her missing created a storm between media and political parties. Now it created a riot among people that she was raped and murdered. A lot of people started to protest to find the killer. 

Now the police started investigating the staffs at the resort about Gobiga. At that time Abhinav told to the police about the things, he saw in Gobiga's room. 

The people who closed her mouth that day, is the resort owner Adhithya Arya. With the things said by Abhinav, the resort's assistant manager Ankit Gupta and manager Saurabh, all three of them were arrested. When taken into custody for investigation, they confessed what had happened.

Looking at the photo in the application of Gobiga, since she was beautiful the manager called her for interview. Since she was beautiful in person, resort owner Adhithya Arya ordered to give the job to her. After joining the work the manager was talking well to her. 

"You are from a poor family. So you should work hard and help your family." Like this the manager advised Gobiga. But after one week he showed a change in his talking style. 

He said to Gobiga, "How long are you going to struggle? There is a way to climb up soon." Hearing this Gobiga was shocked. She asked him, "What way is it, sir?"

For that the manager said, "A lot of VIP customers will come to stay in the resort. If you do call girl service to them, you will get a monthly salary in a single night." Hearing this Gobiga was shocked.

Gobiga said, "Why are you talking like this, sir? I am not that kind of girl. So please don't talk like this to me." She said strictly. 

But the manager didn't leave her and asked her to come to call girl service. 

He said further, "You will get a lot of income, Gobiga. You can earn without working hard. You can buy whatever you want. A lot of people are doing this, you know?" 

Like this he tried to brainwash her. But Gobiga said, "If you again talk about this, I will definitely say to my parents." 

Upon hearing this manager said to Adhithya Arya: "Gobiga will not accept it, sir." After hearing this, he came to the resort directly. Along with the 2 managers he directly went to Gobiga's room. 

Now in a threatening voice, Adhithya Arya asked Gobiga, "Don't you understand? We are saying a way to earn a lot. Why can't you understand it?" 

For that Gobiga replied, "Even a little amount is sufficient for me with my honesty and hard work, sir. But even if you give crores for dishonest work I won't do it." 

Hearing this Adhithya Arya became angry and said: "Today, you should listen to me Gobiga. Today night you have to stay with me and start your service. Or else I will kill and bury you here."

Now hearing this Gobiga became scared and started crying. She said: "I am not willing to work here sir. I will go home now itself." She tried to take her mobile from the table. Seeing this Adhithya Arya tried to snatch the mobile phone from her. In this Gobiga became scared and tried to scream. But he started to close her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Now Adhithya Arya asked the manager to lock the door. From the closed room, he continuously started slapping Gobiga. 

Now Gobiga disrespectfully said to Adhithya Arya, "Hey. I will complain to the police if you didn't leave me from here da." Angered by hearing this, Adhithya Arya asked her, "Oh! You bitch…bloody prostitute…Do you have the guts to complaint to the police ah, di?" He started beating her like a monster. Because of this Gobiga fainted there itself.

Seeing this Adhithya Arya said to the manager, "Hey. You all go outside da. I will call you later." Inside the room, Adhithya Arya removed his dresses. After throwing his dresses asides the bed, Adhithya Arya went near to Gobiga. Trailing his finger around her head and nose, he said: "You will complain me to the police ah di?" 

By holding an unconscious Gobiga's chin tightly, Adhithya Arya aggressively told her, "Today, I will enjoy your whole body di. Let me see how you show your face after I rape you. Gobiga! Today, you are my most delicious meat, food, meal and everything. Muah!" 

Looking at Gobiga's dresses, Adhithya Arya felt her dress's fabric and told to himself, "Her dress is a hurdle for me during the enjoyment! Let me threw away her dresses to smell her hot and beautiful body." Adhithya Arya removed her sari. After removing Gobiga's sari, he ruthlessly tore away her skirts, leggings pants and bikini. 

Now, Adhithya Arya started licking the erogenous body zones of a naked Gobiga. After licking the ears, navel and collarbones of Gobiga, he started kissing her stomach, chest, navel belly, thighs, in between her legs, scalp and neck. Now, Adhithya Arya bites her in the other erogenous body zones after touching and biting her navel. Because of the forceful bites, Gobiga's organs were injured. Recalling the way Gobiga disrespected him, Adhithya Arya violently moved in and out of her body by keeping his hands on her chest and hips. Because of this, Gobiga's vaginal organs started bleeding continuously. Despite seeing the bleedings in her vagina, Adhithya Arya was so merciless and cruel. He again went in and out of her body to pass his semen inside her to satisfy his brutal desires to enjoy that innocent and pure soul, who was laying unconscious in the bed without any movements. 

After satisfying his hunger and lust by violently raping Gobiga Bhandari, Adhithya Arya lied on the top of her nude body to smell her hot and beautiful body. Now, he gets up from her nude body and kissed her forehead by saying: "Thank you darling…I had a delicious food today."

After Adhithya Arya raped Gobiga, she was brutally raped by the other managers. After everything is over, they thought that she might go to the police. Adhithya Arya thought of killing and burying her somewhere. They planned that. Since she has no background or anyone to question it. 

The managers told the staffs that Gobiga fainted. The trio carried her to the car. They said that they are going to the hospital. But, Adhithya Arya went to an isolated place near the Chilla river. At the same time, Gobiga regained her consciousness.

All three of them didn't expect this. They were shocked. In a weak voice, Gobiga pleaded Adhithya Arya, Ankit and Saurabh to leave her. But without any pity they violently raped her again by removing their dresses and throwing it away in the car. Because of this, Gobiga was gravely injured. After raping her, Adhithya Arya puts her in the river. 

Gobiga who didn't know how to swim struggled in the water, drowned and died due to suffocation. All three of them confessed this to the police, at present. Now all three of them were submitted in the court with 500 page charge sheet.

After the arrest of Adhithya Arya, BJP expels his father Vinay Arya from the party with immediate effect. The locals set fire to the resort after the incident. The CM of Uttarakhand ordered for the demolition of the resort. He has also ordered all the district magistrates to take appropriate action against all such unlawfully operating resorts in the state.

FEW YEARS LATER

MAY 29, 2025

A few years later, on Friday of May 2025, a sessions court in Uttarakhand's Kotdwar awarded lifetime imprisonment to Adhithya Arya, Ankit and Saurabh for raping and murdering Gobiga Bhandari. While, Gobiga's family mourns her death on her Third death anniversary in their house after immersing her ashes in Rishikesh.
