TOPSLIP HILL STATION, 8:30 AM

Like a green blanket with trees and plants, with the beautiful hill station which was filled with nature, for the tourists to stay there were a lot of lodges and cottages. In Sai Sadan Lodge, for the morning breakfast the room boy went and called everyone. According to the rules breakfast is free for those who stay there. When everyone was coming to eat the breakfast, the housekeeping team will go and clean the customer’s room. 

The room boy went as usual and called everyone from the room. But when he knocked room no 202, there was no response. While thinking why they are not responding he tried to open the door. Like he thought since the room door was not locked, the door was opened. When he opened the door, from outside he shouted sir and madam. But there was no reply from inside. It doesn’t look like someone was inside and at the same time, like he entered a butcher shop he noticed a stinking smell. 

The room boy thought that it is because of non-veg they ate. He sprayed the room spray throughout the room and thought that they left for breakfast earlier. He again locked the door and started walking towards the next room.

Now when all the customers were eating in one place, housekeeping started their cleaning work. A youngster was cleaning room number 202. To clean the dust under the bed, he bent down and started cleaning but the scene which he saw, made him froze, in shock and his heart skipped a beat. Under the bed with blood frozen, there was a naked body of a women without a head. That youngster ran out of the room screaming. He went to the lodge owner directly and said about this. 

The owner also came to the room and saw that. He informed the police. Around 9.30 a.m. Pollachi Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP) Surya came to the crime scene. He went inside the lodge room along with his assistants to checked the room. Under the bed seeing a body without head, since the murder was very brutal, Surya thought that the motive of the murder must be personal vengeance. 

“This murder didn’t happen for robbery or some other reasons.” To take the investigation on the right path, Surya started thinking about the highest possible way. While thinking Surya noticed some defensive wounds in hands and legs. He understood that the victim fought against the killer. At that time, Surya’s assistant Sub-Inspector Nagarajan noticed the tattoo on victim’s left arm. It was scratched with a knife. 

Surya also noticed the tattoo. He realized that it was destroyed to make it hard to see what it is. The killer was very conscious that the police couldn’t identify it. Now Surya and his team secured the crime scene. They sent the body to autopsy and asked the forensic team to come there. 

The forensic team came to the crime scene in a few minutes. They started searching everywhere for evidence. At that time, they noticed the bag, purse, clothes and slippers were not found anywhere. Most importantly, the head of the dead women was not found anywhere in the room. The entire bathroom was splattered with blood. From the bathroom to the bed there were blood drag stains. The forensic team thought that he must have chopped her head in the bathroom. 

“Similarly the blood stains on the bathroom and the room, must be dead women’s blood.” The forensic team had a thought in their mind.

(Our readers knows very well that. I have said in lots of my stories. In a crime only if the victim was identified, they can find the killer and solve the case. Suppose if they cannot find who the victim is, the chance for finding the killer is only 0.1%.) 

To prevent from identifying the victim, Surya thought that the killer must have taken the head with him. To know who stayed in that room, Surya started checking the entry register of the lodge. It was 32-year old Amjid Khan and 28-year old Rubina Begum. They came to that room from Ambernath city near Mumbai. Surya came to know that there was a phone number in the register. He called that number. But the number was not in use. Notice that it is not switched off. It was not in use. 

Surya asked to the receptionists, “Whether they gave any ID proof while they were in the room?” 

But the lodge owner scratched his head and with hesitation, “Sir. Some customers will come without any ID proofs. To not miss the customers, we will give rooms without ID. That’s how we gave room to them sir.”

Hearing this Surya looked at the lodge owner for a few seconds and asked him, “Whether there is any CCTV?” 

“Ha, yes sir” said the lodge owner.

With the check in time of Amjad and Rubina, Surya started checking the CCTV footage. On December 11, around 7:00 p.m., Surya and his team saw them entering the lodge in the CCTV. But since both of them were wearing a mask they couldn’t see their face. In the parallel time, Surya’s police team went to Mumbai and checked the address which they gave in the register. They found that there was no one named Amjad and Rubina. 

Surya came to know that it was a fake address.

“If the address itself is fake, then how come the name will be true?” Surya asked his teammates. When Surya was thinking that the name should also be fake, he got the victim’s autopsy report. Inspector Nagaraj got the report and handed it to Surya in the police station.

He read the report which said, “The women should be around 26 years old and the cause of death is strangulation. After she was murdered, her head was chopped off from her body. The time of murder is between 11 p.m. to 12 a.m., on December 12. Before she was murdered she must have been in a physical relationship and as a result there was semen in her body.” 

After reading the report, Surya said to Nagaraj: “Nagaraj. Definitely the semen should belong to the killer. So there is a strong evidence against him. If we find him, this case will be solved.” Now Surya and his team thought of another way. The team checked the CCTV to find when he left the lodge. 

Now the next morning on December 12, around 6.30 a.m. he left the lodge. While he went he was wearing a mask. With the shirt he was wearing Surya’s team checked the CCTV footage on the way. His team started tracing where he was going. When the killer came out of the lodge, he went to the bus stop. From there he went in a bus. 

When the police team were checking the CCTV footage of that bus route, 15 km away from that hill station, the killer reached a village. 

From the village, he went through a forest path. 30 minutes later he came out of the same way. It was recorded in the CCTV. They further noticed an important thing in that CCTV. When the killer went through the forest way, his bag was big. When he returned he was normal. Seeing this, Surya suspected that he might have disposed the victim’s head in the forest. To clear that doubt, Surya started searching the way he went. 

While searching like Surya thought 250 m away from the forest path, in a bushy place he saw a garbage bag. He and his team noticed a handbag nearby that. Surya opened the garbage bag. He found a women’s head with blood frozen with eyes opened and tongue out. Seeing this, he and his victim were shocked. 

When Surya checked the handbag for evidence, like he expected he couldn’t find any ID proof. But Nagaraj noticed a hospital prescription, at this point of time. But at that time Surya didn’t think that it was going to solve this case. In that prescription the name was written as Sruthika and Surya saw her age as 26.

Surya understood that it was the dead women’s name. He send the head to autopsy. With the address in the prescription Surya went to the hospital in Pollachi. When he investigated there, they said: “A lot of people are coming and going daily sir. We don’t know who it is.”

Now Surya thought of what to do next. Around the hospital area, he started investigating whether they know a women named Sruthika. At that time, a family said: “Yes sir. Sruthika is our relative girl. She came here 10 days ago and she had a food poisoning when she ate in our house. Suddenly she started vomiting. So she went to the hospital for treatment. There, the doctor wrote a prescription for her.” 

Surya showed the CCTV footage to Sruthika’s relatives. He confirmed that it was Sruthika. Now he got Sruthika’s address. Surya went to Sruthika’s house in Peelamedu and started investigating. 

But her parents and brother said: “Sir. Her husband Adhithya took her to Topslip.” Hearing this Surya started telling them what had happened. Without being able to believe what Surya said, Sruthika’s family started crying. 

Surya’s police team started consoling them. Surya said: “Sir. We are suspecting Sruthika’s husband Adhithya in this murder. Where is he now? Kindly give me his address.”

After getting the address, Surya informed Adhithya’s phone number to the control room. He instructed them to track Adhithya’s mobile number. But like Surya expected Adhithya didn’t make them work hard. When Surya and his police team went to Peelamedu and pressed the calling bell, an unexpected scene was waiting for them. 

The person who opened the door is none other than Adhithya, whom the police was searching from the morning. Surya and his team took him to the police station. 

Surya said: “It is confirmed that you killed your wife Sruthika.” 

Keeping his hands in the table, Surya looked at Adhithya. He questioned him: “But all we want to know is why you killed your wife. What is your motive of murder?”  

Adhithya was sweating in fear. He said: “Sir. I didn’t kill Sruthika. That morning we had a small fight. In that I was angry. So I left Sruthika in the lodge and came from there.” 

Hearing this Surya asked him to stop his act of innocence. He said: “We have a report that the murder happened around 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. So like how you got caught without putting pressure on us, similarly without getting beaten by us, tell the truth.” Like this with the lathi Surya hit the table in front of Adhithya.

In this Adhithya was scared and started confessing everything. 

FEW MONTHS BACK

COIMBATORE

Sruthika worked as a Compliance manager in Tidel Park. Exactly six months before this murder, that is in May 2021, Sruthika got married to a software engineer Adhithya. 

“But since they had a complication in their horoscope, they should not be together for a year. If they were together their life could be in danger. After 1 year Sruthika should go and live in her in law’s house”, said an astrologer. Adhithya’s family who highly believed astrology, followed it blindly. 

Even though Adhithya and Sruthika were new bride and groom, both of them lived separately in their houses. Adhithya thought that even his enemy shouldn’t live like this. He went to Sruthika’s house 2 times a month and took her outside.

The astrologer restricted them from living in the same house for 1 year. But for going outside together, and for being together as husband and wife, there is no restriction. Like this, Adhithya created a rule and went out with her.

In such situation, in November 2021, exactly one month before this incident, through Adhithya’s friend Rishi Khanna, the astrologer’s words became true. Rishi Khanna couldn’t come to the marriage. But he came to Adhithya’s house unexpectedly. Upon seeing the marriage album photos, Rishi was shocked. He was not only shocked. He also said another shocking news to Adhithya of why he was shocked.

After saying this, Sruthika felt relieved that she said everything to her husband. She felt peaceful. But Adhithya who heard what she said, lost his peace and storm hit his heart. 

“They were in love for a year and went to movie. How didn’t they cross the line? They spoke for hours in the phone. They could have kissed.” Like this Adhithya thought about it. He became a total psychopath. Adhithya further thought that she was not worried that they were living separately. She was very happy. She didn’t feel sad that he wasn’t with her. Like this, Adhithya started suspecting Sruthika.

Sometimes when Sruthika was talking to her friends on the phone, Adhithya suspected that she must be talking to someone else. Like this all suspicions gathered together in his heart. Finally, he thought that Sruthika cheated and married him. Adhithya decided to kill her after becoming a total psycho. 

Later, Adhithya planned to take her to the Topslip hill station. To kill Sruthika, he took a butcher knife from the house and garbage bag along with him. To prevent people from identifying her, Adhithya asked Sruthika to wear a mask to prevent Covid infection and took her to the lodge. Also without knowing to Sruthika, he gave a fake name, address and phone number in the register. Around 7.30 p.m. Adhithya and Sruthika went inside the room. After eating, they came back to room.

Around 11 p.m., Adhithya looked into Sruthika’s eyes. She looked away and he also turned away. She looked at him again. Adhtihya looked at her and kissed her lips. Sruthika thought that he had zero experience. Adhithya thought it didn’t come out well. Her hands were on his dick. She soon took her hand away. Adhithya hugged and kissed her again. Sruthika was blushing. He looked at her, and she touched him again.

After that he kept Sruthika’s head in a garbage bag. Adhithya again dragged her dead body and hid it under the bed. After that he took his things and Sruthika’s things and escaped from the lodge. He disposed the head in the forest and threw the handbag.

Adhithya thought that he didn’t leave any evidence for the police to find him and thought that he did a perfect crime. As if he knows nothing, he went to his house in Peelamedu. The perfect crime he did is found by ACP Surya in the next 24 hours and arrested him.

PRESENT

At present, after hearing Adhithya’s reasons for murdering Sruthika, Surya and his team looked at him weirdly. 

Now, Surya went to his house and recovered the knife that he used for murdering Sruthika. At the same time, his police team recovered Sruthika’s dress, phone, slippers and other things. Also in the autopsy report, it should have come that there was semen in Sruthika’s body. Surya and his police team confirmed that it was Adhithya’s. 

Now the investigation is still going in the Madras High Court. At the same time, Sruthika’s family is waiting for the day of justice and judgment for her case.

EPILOGUE

In the situation where we couldn’t find bride for a marriage, a well-educated girl(with a good job) came into Adhithya’s life as god’s precious gift. Sruthika even tattooed his name in her hand. Though he found a girl who loved him, he killed her without any sense instead of living with her. Now he is in jail. Like this Harsha said about his opinion. Beyond all this in this case which started without any clue, in the next 24 hours, police did a brilliant investigation and solved the case. We have to appreciate it. And from this, there is not a thing called a perfect crime. It is proved again that if you do a mistake you will definitely get caught.
