An Adventurous Train Journey!

The month of Ramadan - the month in which the Muslims fast all day and engage in prayer and many good deeds. Rahim and Saira Banu wish to visit the Delhi Jumma Mosque and the Agra Taj Mahal on Friday at least once in life during this Ramadan fast.

In Valasaravakkam, a suburb of Chennai, the husband and wife were running a clothing store called ‘Noor Matching Center’ in a small shop. Saira Banu is a good tailor, so there is in the middle of the shop, a sewing machine to sew herself.

Since it is a matching centre, they are able to sell all kinds of fabrics all over the shop to meet the needs of their customers such as lining cloth, lace and earn as much as they could.

The Rahim-Saira Banu couple has two children, a boy and a girl. Handing over the shop to a boy at prayer time they go home and after the prayer come back to the shop and watch the business until the night shop closes and then the couple go home together.

At home, Rahim’s Wappa and Umma take good care of the children and the house so that both husband and wife can run the business without being distracted.

Being a middle-class family income and expenses are balanced in a right and tight way.

Their shop is located in the middle of the common wall of two of the row shops. So it is not possible to extend store and expand the business. The couple learned to live in peace with what Rahim’s Wappa and Ummah advised them from time to time, “Do not be tempted to fly up and up.”

The desire to go to Delhi-Agra day by day is intense. Selling Scent is the side business as Rahim’s wappa is at home. It is customary to order beetle-nuts with the name Nizam Pak. Wappa uses buy it in bulk stores and supply it to the iconic box stores. The surplus income from this will be very helpful for family expenses during the Ramadan festive season.

The couple was overjoyed when Wappa and Umma, who knew the desire of their son and daughter-in-law, gave them the money they needed to go to Delhi and Agra for Ramadan, which they have been saving and saving, spending each and every single penny with care.

Rahim went to Chennai Central Station, stood in the queue, bought the reservation form, read it, filled it with care, paid the amount and bought the tickets. The train journey day came, the family came to the station and boarded the train.

The children enthusiastically celebrated. Umma and Sairabhanu laughed as they watched not only the children but also the old Wappa fight for the window seat.

The train started to move. It crossed Nellore. TTR arrived, checked the tickets and said that his name was not on the list. Rahim shocked. He was the one who was unable to go to the shop all day, unable to look at business and went to the station, filled out the form, stood at the reservation counter, tied up the money and bought the tickets.

The list read ‘Irahim’. The ticket was for Rahim. Those who know Tamil know the awesome name as one. TTR who boarded in Nellore is a Telugu speaking person. So he left saying there was a change in name.

The man in the side seat of the same compartment travelling with Rahim’s family looked at Rahim and said, “TTR expects money from you. That is why he says the name changed. ”The ummah opened her purse and took out the money and put it in Rahim’s hands.

TTR came in after a while and asked, “What are you going to do?” Rahim showed 100 rupees. When he was told to pay 600 rupees for 6 tickets, Rahim immediately counted 600 rupees. When TTR went with the money, Rahim sat down relaxed and said “Masha Allah”

It’s a little less regrettable to bring in for travel expenses, But the family reassured themselves that the issue was over. Everyone was getting ready for bed. The train was approaching Nagpur. Suddenly the passenger of the side berth tapped Rahim, who was fast asleep. He said what he saw near the toilet. Rahim immediately rushed to that place.

There TTR was holding Wappa’s hands tightly; There was a basket at Wappa’s feet. In that basket, the ummah had brought some sweet, spicy snacks packets to eat during the journey. But when TTR told Rahim, “Your wappa had drug,” Rahim shuddered.

“Sir, it is Pakku sir; I am unable to get sleep. So I thought I may have some pakku. I want to take the pakku packets from the basket. I took the basket here to the light and searched.” Wappa said,” he is not believing me. What will I do? ” As Wappa began to worry very much.

Nagpur station has arrived at this time. The TTR called the police who stood outside on the platform and spoke. Realizing that things were going awry, Rahim called TTR alone and told him that he would pay whatever he wants, but TTR said, “This is a police case; I do not know.”

Police dropped Wappa and Rahim off the train and made them stand on the platform. Umma and Saira Banu started crying. When the signal fell, the train began to move slowly. Immediately Umma stretched out all her rupees notes through the window and started shouting “Leave them”. After getting the rupees, the police allowed the two to board the train. Rahim and Wappa ran and boarded the train.

The police handed over some notes to the TTR.

The innocent Rahim and his family had a remarkable experience in this Ramadan journey to Delhi.
