"Ok aunt just comes down let's look for clues first," I said trying to calm my aunt who was seriously freaking out. Well okay, it was a thing to freak about but still. So now you must be asking what was the thing to freak about so let me start by introducing myself. I am Pari and immature detective who loves solving mysteries and reading mystery books. I usually solve small mysteries but I can assure you this one was BIG.

I was having my lunch which by the way was very delicious when I got interrupted by a call I picked it up and heard my aunt's voice "Please Pari come to my shop as quickly as you can this is a big emergency" my aunt said rapidly and she didn't even let me speak she just cut the phone. I mean seriously??? I left my delicious lunch and went to my aunt's shop which was nearby. She owns a shop called Star diamonds which has all sorts of lovely diamond jewelry.

I went inside the shop and noticed that it was in a huge mess. My aunt was trying to clean up the mess when she noticed me as she spoke "There has been a robbery a precious diamond necklace worth Rs.1,00,00,000 has gone missing please help me". Okay so as I mentioned I have never solved big mysteries so this was huge for me but I agreed to help.

"Let's look for clues first" I spoke as professionally as I could. My aunt was freaking out as I said earlier so she was no help in finding the clues. I looked in the shop and around it. There was a window which was broken which meant that the thief would have come from there. I noticed a pair of footprints that were small which meant the thief had small legs. Inside the shop, I also found an earring that meant the thief was female and a handkerchief with a P embroidered on it which meant the thief's name was starting from P.

Well, that was a good start. I guessed that the thief wasn't very experienced as she had left so many clues behind. My aunt had calmed down so I decided to ask her some questions. I took out my pocket notebook which has all my notes about the mysteries that I solve. I started with the most common question " when did all this happen?"

I opened my shop late today as I had an appointment with the doctor so I opened it at 1 PM and I noticed all this" my aunt said. "Do you think that the thief could have known you I mean she did know that you were going to open it late? "Well maybe as the thief did know that I keep security at night and they go around 7 AM," my aunt said.

Okay so now I knew that the thief came between 7 AM till 1 PM and also that the thief knew my aunt well. I thought for a while and said "who all knew about the security and that you had an appointment with the doctor today". "Let's see now Paul Paulina Priya Lisa Thomas Preeti Jack Rahul and of course myself," she said slowly.

I couldn't believe this I knew my aunt was talkative but this much she had told so many people to thank goodness I had my clues to narrow my options down. I looked for females first and then the ones with the name starting from P. I now had three suspects Priya Paulina and Preeti. I am now had to find out where they were between 7 AM till 1 PM and if they had small feet.

I asked my aunt about who had small feet and she said "I don't know about small feat but I can tell you Priya has gigantic feet" she said. I as for the address of Paulina and Preeti thankfully they were close by so I decided to start with Paulina. As I reached the address I saw a woman in the garden. She was watering the plants. I went to her and asked, "Are you, Mrs.Paulina?"

"No my dear I am the gardener Mrs. Paulina is out of the station she will come back tomorrow I thanked the woman now I knew that Paulina couldn't be the thief so I decided to go to the next address which was of Preeti. I had a really nice feeling that Preeti was the thief.

As I came to her house and knocked on the door an old lady opened the door. I asked if Mrs. Preeti was home the old lady said: "Yes dear she has gone to take a shower you can come in and have a seat". This was a really good opportunity for me so I went and sat down the old lady was also very chatty I found out that she was her mother-in-law and that Preeti had gone somewhere from 7 AM till 10 PM.

Now I knew that Preeti was the thief but I had no proof But fortunately my luck was good just then the old lady asked if I wanted some cookies I accepted the offer as I had only half of my lunch and missed supper. The old lady went into the kitchen. This was a chance for me I had drawn a rough sketch of the footprint I had also seen a shoe rack near the entrance so I ran there and searched and then my heart skipped a beat.

I saw a shoe that had the same bottom and I knew this had to be the shoe. Just then I heard footsteps I quickly sat on the sofa and slipped the shoe in my bag just then an old lady came and I quickly grabbed two cookies and said I had to go. The old lady looked at me suspiciously but I didn't have the time to explain.

I went and called the police and my aunt by the time we all went to Preeti's house Preeti had already completed her shower she went pale when she saw us and when the police accused her about the robbery. But she said "what proof do you have" I took out the shoe and showed her and she immediately confessed that she had done the robbery and returned the diamond necklace and this is how I solved the mystery of the stolen diamond necklace.
