THE HUMAN MONSTER
THE HUMAN MONSTER
NOTE: This story is based on Author’s fiction. It doesn’t apply to any historical references or real-life incidents. Some incidents were loosely inspired from a breathtaking case which shocked the entire Australian people. At the end of this story, I have said an important thing which everyone should know.
MARCH 6, 2021
In Adelaide city of Australia, the time was nearing 6.30 a.m. The bright sun which has just come up gave some warm light. On that summer morning when the city was full of light, 60-year old Krishnamoorthy has slept well and woke up from the bed.
Now with a panicked face his wife Rukmini came inside the bedroom and said: “Our Dharshini is missing. Her mobile is switched off.” Like this she said in panic.
Krishnamoorthy was shocked to hear this. He asked to Rukmini, “Whether she came back from the old age home from the previous night?”
For that Rukmini said: “No dad. I don’t know. When I brought coffee to her room this morning, I noticed that she was missing. I searched the entire house. But I couldn’t see her.”
For that Krishnamoorthy said: “I will try and call the old age home.” He took his mobile and called them. But a lady attended the call and she said, “Dharshini finished her duty the previous night and left from here, sir.”
“Whether Dharshini came home after duty? Or did she go somewhere else? Even if she went somewhere why did she switch off her mobile?” Like this a lot of question raised in Suryanarayanan’s mind. In the next 30 minutes, Suryanarayanan and his daughter Jayashree went to the police station and filed a missing complaint. But the police who saw the complaint and the photo of Dharshini, started suspecting a person immediately.
In Coimbatore which was the lifeline for Textile industrialists, in 2003 June, Dharshini was born as a second daughter to her parents. But when Dharshini was 13 years old, her mother died due to heart attack. The responsibility to raise Dharshini and her elder sister Jayashree, fell in the shoulder of Suryanarayanan. But he was very brave. He raised all three children nicely and challenged himself to raise his daughters to a good level.
Like Suryanarayanan thought in the next few years he started fulfilling that. Jayashree finished her degree and went to work.
Also with the dream of studying well and become a nurse, Dharshini completed her school studies. She wished to work in the medical field to help people. She said to her father: “Dad. I wish to study nursing in Australia.”
Hearing this, Suryanarayanan hesitated to live separately from his daughter. But after that Dharshini’s uncle Krishnamoorthy and aunty Rukmini in Australia said: “We will look after Dharshini as our own daughter.” They said to Dharshini’s father to send her to Australia happily.
Now Suryanarayanan said okay to that. He said: “Dear Dharshini ma. You should concentrate only on studying well” and sends her off from India. Now, Dharshini like she wished, started studying nursing in UniSA(South Australia University).
Dharshini studied the first two years with her family’s financial support. But after that in cross care old age home in Adelaide, she was working as a part time nurse and started earning. After the duty when she return home in taxi, since it will be around 11:00 p.m. night, in her uncle and aunt’s house where she was staying, she had a spare key of Krishnamoorthy’s house. But when everything was going smoothly like this, on March 5, Dharshini who went to college and then to duty, didn’t return home after that.
Now when police saw Dharshini’s missing complaint, they started suspecting a person. The person they suspected is none other than the person who was studying computer course in the same university as her. A 21-year old student named Adhithya. (Later I will say why police suspected him first)
Since college was leave on Saturday, police went to the room where Adhithya was staying. They woke him up from his sleep. Now Adhithya was shocked to see the police. When the police investigated he said he has nothing to do with her missing. Hearing this the police asked, “Where you was during the previous night?”
For that Adhithya said: “I went for a long drive in my friend’s car to Flinders mountain, sir.” Now to check whether he said is true, the police started cross checking Adhithya’a alibi. Now his friend said: “Yes sir. It’s true. He borrowed my car.” When the police checked his phone signal and the CCTV footage, it is proved that he went to that Flinders mountain in the car and his phone signal travelled in that mountain tower range.
Along with that the police got an important breakthrough in this case. In the backseat of the car which Adhithya drove, police saw a girl sitting with her eyes and mouth tied. Even though her face was not clear, with the dress she wore, Dharshini’s uncle and aunty confirmed that it was her. Also in the same tower range where Adhithya’s mobile phone signal travelled, at the same time, Dharshini’s phone signal also travelled there. Beyond all this from a tower range 120 km away from Adelaide, both Adhithya and Dharshini’s phone switched off at the same time.
From a hardware shop in Adelaide, Adhithya bought a lot of things like shovel, knives, gloves, tape, cable tie, etc. It was confirmed through CCTV footage. Immediately police arrested Adhithya and investigated him in the custody. Now he started to stammer without being able to answer the evidence. He eventually started to confess what happened that day.
Since Adhithya also came from Coimbatore to study in Australia like Dharshini, she started to speak friendly with him. But without understanding it he started to fell in love with her and suddenly one day he came to Dharshini, and made a love proposal that he is sincerely in love with her.
Dharshini was shocked and said: “I see you as my friend only.” But without worrying about that like the hero in 7G movie, he followed Dharshini and changed her heart.
In the next one month after Adhithya proposed to her, Dharshini started to fall in love with Adhithya. But after they were mutually in love in the next few months, a crack started to appear in their love. In the weekend, Adhithya came to Dharshini, and asked her to come to the movie, sightseeing, picnic, etc. But she said that she came her to study well and go to a good job. She said that she won’t be distracted by anything until then. Like this, Dharshini said no to whatever he asked. Because of this, Adhithya was disappointed.
Without stopping it, Adhithya started to become possessive with Dharshini. He restricted her from speaking to other males except him. Because of this activity Dharshini was disturbed. She was unable to focus on her studies. She asked him not to do like this. Since her studies is being distracted. Like this she tried to make him understand. But like what he does is right, he said: “I love you very much Dharshu. That’s why I became possessive with you.” Like irritating her, to whoever she spoke on the phone, he started doubting her like she is in love with another person.
Adhithya said, “I feel like you are in love with someone else. I fear that you might leave me.” He started hurting Dharshini. Dharshini endured this for 6 months. At one stage like Adhithya thought, she decided to breakup with him.
(I have said this in a lot of stories already. At the time of breakup the ones who breaks up should make the other understand.)
Dharshini came to Adhithya and said, “You know how to love. But you don’t have the maturity on how to treat your lover. So first build that maturity. It might be hard to accept what I say. But as the days go you will understand what I said. We shouldn’t continue our love.” She said and tried to convince him. But without minding any of that, Adhithya started following her to the college and workplace to disturb her.
Adhithya called his parents in India, and started to cry. He said: “Dharshini broke up with me.” Because of this, Adhithya’s parents became sad. They tried to convince him first. But without listening since Adhithya kept on crying, they called Dharshini and started speaking with her.
Dharshini told everything that happened and she said, “Aunty. It didn’t work out between us. When it is like this if I continue to love Adhithya, it will be like cheating myself. As a women please understand my situation.” Like this she told her clearly.
Adhithya’s parents understood the situation. They advised him to leave Dharshini and focus on studying. But he didn’t expect this. Now, Adhithya became angry. Since, she turned his parents against him. After this his behavior started to change completely.
(If you ask whether he changed into a good person. No readers. After this only his monstrous behavior came out.)
Adhithya started teasing Dharshini. He texted vulgarly to her mobile. He started scolding her in her social media accounts. Like this, he started doing a lot of bad things. Without being able to bear his torture, Dharshini went and gave a police complaint. But she feared that her father will stop her from studying if she knows about it. For support, she took her friend to give a complaint.
Adhithya who was adamant till that started to fear on seeing the police. He started pleading, “Sir. I did it in anger since she broke up with me.” He promised Dharshini that he won’t disturb her hereafter.
Dharshini thought that his studies will be ruined if police took action and withdrew her complaint. She said to Adhithya, “You look beautiful, Adhithya. So keep your actions also beautiful. Study well hereafter and you will get a better girl than me.” But without changing even after that, he became angry since she brought him to police station.
Adhithya was very much angry. He decided to kill Dharshini. According to his plan, he got his friend’s car and went to a hardware shop. There he bought the things he needed and went to the old age home where Dharshini was working. There he stopped the car in an isolated place and started to wait for Dharshini to finish her work.
Now around 10:15 p.m., when Dharshini came out after work, Adhithya hided in a place where she couldn’t see him. He suddenly came from her back and held her throat with his left elbow. At the same time he showed the knife in his right hand, and threatened her to do what he said or else he would hurt her. In that Dharshini became scared and didn’t shout. Now he slowly made her sit in the backseat of the car he brought. With the tape he tied her mouth tightly and tied her hands and legs with a cable tie.
Now without being able to shout or escape, Adhithya said, “You don’t need me ah di?” He brutally beats up Dharshini with full of rage. After beating her up, he violently kicked her like a stray dog. When Dharshini fainted he tied her eyes with the cloth and started to drive towards Flinders mountain. But when it is like this his friend who gave him his car called him.
When Adhithya hung up the phone saying, “I am going on a long drive” he thought what he should do if someone calls Dharshini. He parked the car and switched off both their mobiles. After that he started driving and stopped in the Flinders mountain.
When Dharshini regained her consciousness and started to struggle, Adhithya dragged her outside the car and started beating her again. After beating and kicking her brutally, he took his knife. With Dharshini’s eyes, legs, hands and mouth being tied, he brutally murdered her by slitting her throat by holding her head.
After killing Dharshini, Adhithya took the tools out from the Dickey which he already bought. Now, he dug a pit of 4 feet depth and 5 feet long and buried her body in that. After that, Adhithya said that he left from there afterwards.
After Adhithya’s confession on March 8 morning, police took him and went to Flinders mountain. Also knowing about Dharshini’s missing news, her family who came to Australia also went with them. When the police started digging in the place where Adhithya showed, they took out Dharshini’s dead body. Her eyes, hands and legs were tied with full of mud in her body. Seeing this Suryanarayanan, Jayashree, Krishnamoorthy and Rukmini started crying.
The doctors team started doing autopsy there itself. At that time, the things that wasn’t expected started to happen. Dharshini’s family who was standing around there and even the police didn’t expect the doctors to say such a thing. The doctors said, “Dharshini didn’t die since her throat was slit, sir. She died due to suffocation and it’s not a normal suffocation. Mud was filled in her entire respiratory system and that’s why Dharshini died(due to suffocation).”
From Adhithya’s confession, police thought that Dharshini was murdered on March 6, around 4.00 a.m. But the doctor said, “Sir. Her time of death, was on March 7 around 3 to 4 a.m., which means after Dharshini was buried, she struggled around 22 hours.” Hearing this, the police was shocked. They started investigating Adhithya, who was standing in fear. With hesitation, he started to slowly say what truly happened.
Actually in the anger Adhithya had on Dharshini, he decided to torture her slowly and kill her. As per the plan, he kidnapped her. After they went to the mountains, he beat her and scratched her neck with a knife. After that he removed the cloth from her eyes. At that night time, Dharshini was completely scared. She started to look around in that moonlight. Now he again beat her and dragged her into the pit.
Now Dharshini who was moving like a worm inside the pit, he started to slowly cover her with mud. In that situation without being able to scream when Dharshini was mumbling, in the next 10 minutes he buried her alive.
Now through Dharshini’s nose, the mud started to spread in her entire respiratory system. Because of this she suffocated for a while, and finally like that monster Adhithya thought, she struggled for hours inside the mud, and died in a brutal way.
Hearing the confessions of Adhithya, even the police was frozen in shock. After his confession police prepared charge sheet against Adhithya and produced him in the court.
When this case came to hearing in Australian court, his defense team said: “My lord. After Adhithya killed Dharshini he was affected by hallucination.” They argued to give him less punishment.
But the doctors checked him and said: “Adhithya doesn’t have any hallucinations.” They certified that he is mentally fit. The court accepted it. For the crime of killing Dharshini, in July 2023, they gave Adhithya 20 years life sentence without parole. Actually he should be given death sentence. But since death sentence is banned in Australia, court gave him the maximum punishment of life sentence without parole.
EPILOGUE
Like Dharshini said Adhithya was a handsome boy. Like she said, Adhithya was beautiful. If he was beautiful inside and focused his concentration on studies, maybe like Dharshini said a good girl might have become his life partner and she would have been alive now. But without thinking any of this, without any pity Adhithya brutally killed Dharshini. Now he is in jail. Also when he kidnapped Dharshini, we should notice that she should have fought to the extent. Already I have mentioned this in lots of my stories. Never let them take you to a second location. This is a famous proverb in western side. Suppose if a killer comes to kidnap you, without fighting him, if you fear that he will stab you if you shout, and if you start listening to him, that is, if you allow him to take you to another location without screaming or shouting, there is a chance of a lot of brutal things to happen to you. Because a simple logic, think about it. Why he doesn’t want you to shout. Because if you shout there is a lot of chance for him to get caught. So in that place, his power is weak. But once you allow him to take you to another location, killer will be very strong in his place. Because to question or stop them, there will be no one and in that place he can do anything to you and I have mentioned this in my stories. Think about it. Is he going to treasure you in his place? He is going to kill you there. But instead of dying here, there your death will be more brutal. So to the extent you can fight and die here. At least there is a lot of chance for you to escape here. Similarly the chance of him to get caught is also high. From this incident of what happened to Dharshini, without fearing if she have fought back against Adhithya, maybe she could have escaped from him. Or else someone could have come to save her there. Or at least without suffering she would have died easily.
So my dear readers. Dharshini who wanted to achieve a lot of things in her life, was brutally murdered. Comment your opinions down about this brutal murder.
