Rights Of Children
The vast majority of children in this world are deprived of education, which is a vital necessity for every individual. They could not go to school, attend classes and acquire education. Due to this, they face a monotonous future. It is estimated that 150 million children are engaged in child labour. It might be because of poverty as they are obliged to do household chores due to which they have scant time to attend school. Child labour should be strictly prohibited. Children are neither the property of adults nor helpless objects of charity. Therefore, they should be given their rights and access to higher education as "Education is the passport to the future from tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." On November 20, 1989, the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. That’s why November 20 was chosen to celebrate Universal Children’s Day. Article 28 of the Convention recognizes “the right of the child to education on the basis of equal opportunity.” Thence, the government should start programs to make people aware of the rights of children and also develop a sense of aggressiveness in children to stand up for their own rights. Furthermore, schools should be set up for children to acquire education to fulfil their aspirations themselves, without depending on anybody else.
