Past Life Rregression

Past Life Rregression

We aspire to be ... shadows of our dreams, of the aspirations of people who love us, shadows of our words and actions, shadows of an uncertain and unseen future and shadows of our past.

We make all possible efforts to continue living in these shadows. We avoid the light of knowledge by not listening to what our mind has to say to dwell only in the present moment of truth and life. Since childhood, what I remember is always being told to live in the present, to forget what is lost and gone and not think too much about the future. But do we really do that? All the time, I find myself surrounded by people and voices who are still dwelling in their past and they have a profession called past life regression, sometimes glorious and more often than not, sad.

I wonder why we want to walk ahead in life without head turned backwards, looking at things and events and people gone by? What is gone is gone forever..... the road we have already travelled shall never welcome us back again. Now it has new travelers. Every single morning, when I pick up the newspaper, I am distressed to read about the number of mishaps, glorious lives cut short by accidents, natural calamities, religious fanaticism, degradation of human values and relationships. Does not give us the lesson that we too might have very less time with us to do what we have always dreamt of doing ... what we are expected to do ... to live a glorious and beautiful life. As Robert Frost truly said, “I have miles to go before I sleep.” Past however glorious is just a shadow .... Shadow of things people and dreams that were. Shadows can never be touched, never be re-lived, never be embraced. In the similar fashion, past never comes back and whenever it does, it comes with haunting memories. Why do we continuously want to live with haunting voices? Is it not like living in a graveyard? Life is beautiful and short.

As someone has penned down beautifully, “Ready or not, someday, it will all come to an end .... There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days .......” Living a life that matters does not happen by accident. It is not a matter of circumstances but of choice. It won’t matter whether you were brilliant or beautiful, successful or not yours nationality, religion, colour and creed won’t matter one day ... what will matter is every single act of character, integrity, compassion and courage. Don’t we learn all these lessons right from the day we are born? But we chose to forget all our lessons and live in the shadows of darkness and ignorance. These shadows follow us everywhere we go... it eclipses our conscience and makes growth impossible. When life is about to bring us to the threshold of happiness and success, .. in our career, marriage or life, we are held back by these shadows of past failures, a failed marriage, a lost child, a broken home.

Their memories haunt us and prevent us from embracing life in all its vibrant hues. Life does give us a second chance, we only are too engrossed in sulking over the lost first chance or a failed first chance. We let this happen to us. By a little practice and effort, we can successfully relegate these haunting memories to the background ... to the rightful place where they belong, the past. Shadows are a symbol of uncertainty, hopelessness and fear of the unknown. There is only one thing which can destroy them, light of faith and hope. True courage lies in living in the present and facing life head on. So believe in the present, this moment of truth and life shall be yours.
