Never Give Up

“God! Take my life,” shouted Rahul standing on the rooftop of a building.

“Rahul! Rahul! Where are you?”

“Get down first, Rahul,” shouted Mahesh, Rahul’s friend.

“No, No, leave me, Mahesh. I want to end my life.”

“You get down, first. We will talk about and solve your problem.”

“Rahul, what is your problem?”

"I'm doing my final year B.Sc (Chemistry). Last month, I wrote my 5th semester. Today, the result came. I have got very low marks in two major papers and failed in three papers.

My parents are dreaming that I’ll complete my degree successfully and help them financially after my graduation.

You know well about my family condition. My parents are working in a firework industry and my younger sister dropped out of school for the sake of my education.

I had prepared well for the exam. On the day of my exam, I forgot many concepts because of anxiety.”

“Don’t worry, Rahul. I’ll help you to get through all the papers in your final semester.”

Mahesh was an ardent follower of Swami Vivekananda. He quoted one of his sayings, “If you fail a thousand times make the attempt once more.”

Mahesh motivated Rahul by saying, “Never think about your failure. Always be positive and think about the saying of Swami Vivekananda. Read some of his motivational quotes.”

Rahul read the life of Swami Vivekananda daily. He felt motivated and got confidence that he could get through all papers in his final semester. Mahesh had been a great support to Rahul.

The final semester came. Rahul appeared in the exams confidently. Rahul got passed in all his arrear papers and in his final semester too. He felt extremely happy and thanked Mahesh.
