That day the classroom was clamorous…

A week ago, we had completed our Quarterly Examination. Students were chattering, rapping the desks, jumping, and running in the class. The teacher entered the classroom with papers.

“Silence…” the teacher shouted.

Students were sitting on the edge of our seats anxiously to view their papers. Some girls were biting their nails in anxiety. Some boys were not bothered about their papers. They were making sounds by rapping the desks.

Miss. Shreya, the science teacher, distributed the papers. She scrutinized their papers and gave comments. She was affectionate to her students. She never reprimanded or beat them.

Shreya teacher was entirely different from others. She motivated the students through stories and anecdotes. She encouraged her students by presenting them small gifts on their birthdays and when they won any competitions. She would take them to the smart class to clarify their doubts on difficult topics. She would allow them to work on the computer. So, they would be anticipating for her classes.

Once, one of her students got low marks in her exams. Her friends were teasing her and she got distressed. Shreya teacher consoled and gave confidence to her.

Then, she narrated an incident from the life of one of the greatest scientists, Thomas Alva Edison, who invented the electric bulb.

“Edison was studying in primary school. One day, his teacher sent a note to his mother that her son was not fit to that school.

Edison’s mom became upset about reading the teacher’s note.

“What’s there in the note, Mom?” asked Edison.

“Your teacher has written that you are very brilliant, you can do great things.”

His mother lied and hid the letter in her table drawer.

Edison grew up. After the demise of his mother, he got a chance to open that table drawer and he read the letter that was written by his teacher.

Tears rolled from his eyes. His mother hid the truth and appreciated her son.”

From this story, we could understand the love of a mother and the motivation that she gave to her son.

The teacher advised her, “Never mind about the criticisms that you get from others. Focus on your dreams and break those critical comments into pieces.”

“Always aim higher. Never look down or back. Go ahead in your life, even if you face troubles.”
