Dhina is a sincere Police officer. He has a good reputation among his higher officials and his colleagues.

His wife, Neela, is a homemaker and best partner. She has taken up the responsibilities of her husband too as he is busy at his work. She has an interest in creative works. She has completed her high school education and got married early. She takes evening class for the children on her premises.

They have a son and a daughter. Their son Mukund is a football player and has got many medals. Their cupboard is filled by his medals. Now, he is doing his final year Post Graduation in Physics.

Sakshi is their daughter. She is doing her first year under graduation in Botany. She will fight with her brother even for small things. Sometimes, he will hide her books, record notes, and stationeries too. She is a doting sister who can’t spend even a day without her Bada Bhai.

They missed their father’s presence on special occasions at their school and college.

Once, at their school, they organised a science exhibition. Mukund and Sakshi participated as a team and won the prize. They invited their father to the exhibition. Because of some important work, he couldn’t go there. His children expected a lot and got disappointed. Sakshi didn’t talk to her dad for three days. Later, he pacified her.

On such many situations, children missed his presence. Sakshi would proudly say to her friends, “My father is a Police officer and has got ‘President Award’ for his good credentials in his job.”

It was her 12th birthday. She was eagerly waiting for her father. Sakshi called him on the phone. He attended the call and told her that he would be on time in the evening. Sakshi’s house was decorated with colourful papers, balloons and so on.

In the evening, she was waiting at the doorway for her father. All of their guests and their neighbours too were waiting for him.

" Tring... Tring…", Sakshi rushed to pick up the call.

"Sakshi ma, Papa has got some emergency work. I must go out of the station, immediately. Forgive me, dear. Papa will get you the gift that you wish.”

“Always, you are disappointing me, papa.”

When Sakshi heard it, she felt disheartened. Because she had invited her friends to the party and told them that she would introduce them to her father. Her friends too got excited to meet him.

Next day, at school, Sakshi’s friends teased her. Sakshi was dejected. In the evening, she told about it to her mom. Her mom consoled and explained about her father’s situation too.

Dhina returned home that night. Sakshi was sleeping on the bed. He had kept her birthday gift next to her. Next day morning, when she woke up, she saw the gift, felt happy, ran to her father and kissed him.

One day, She asked her father, “Have you ever missed us, Papa, when you were on duty?”

“Yes, Beta. I have worried many times that I couldn’t attend any of your special days at school. I have shared about it to your mother. I have to thank her for filling my place. I’m grateful to her.”

“When I see my friends’ parents are attending school activities, I miss you a lot, Papa. I would like to sleep on your lap, ride on a bike and so many wishes...”, said Sakshi.

When her father was listening to her desires, he had tears. Then, he promised her that hereafter he would be present on her big days.

A father-daughter relationship is very pure in this world. Daughters are Fathers’ Princesses.

Fathers became a slave before their daughters’ love.
