My Journey Through Various Continents

I had a dream to travel through various continents of the world. There are total 7 continents in the world: Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Australia and Antarctica. Finally, after years it became true. So, I thought to share my Journey with you.

Asia:

First I decided to visit the largest continent of the world, Asia. I live in Asia but wanted to travel through other countries. It has the area about 44.58 million km². It covers about 30% of Earth's total land area and 8.7% of the Earth's total surface area. There are total 50 countries including two dependent countries, Taiwan (China) and Palestine (Israel). It has population of 4,56,06,67,108. Asia is bounded by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south and Europe to the west. It has the largest populous country in the world, China. It also has the world's largest country, Russia. The average annual rainfall of 11,871mm in Mawsynram (Meghalaya, India), which is recognised as the world's wettest by the Guinness Book of World Records, is also located in Asia. 60% of the world's population live in Asia. Tropic of Cancer and Equator both passes through Asia. The Yangtze River in China is the longest river in Asia, the third longest river in the world and the longest river to flow entirely in one country. The highest mountain of the world, Mount Everest is located in Asia. After long journey of 3 weeks, I decided to change my continent.

Europe:

Then I visited to another continent of the world, Europe. Europe is the sixth-largest continent, containing just seven per cent of the world's land surface. Its area is about 10.18 million km². It is separated by Asia by the Ural Mountains. Europe is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean to the north, Asia to the east, Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Mediterranean, Black, and Caspian Seas to the south. There are total 51 countries in Europe. The population in Europe is 747.8 million. Mt. Elbrus is the highest peak of Europe. The second most active volcano in the world, Mount Etna is in Europe. The Volga River, at 3690 km, is the longest river in Europe and 16th in the world. Then, after a journey of 2 weeks I left from there.

Africa:

Now, I reached to the second largest continent of the world, Africa. It covers about one-fifth of the total land surface of Earth. It has the area about 3, 03, 70, 000 km². It consists of total 54 countries. Africa is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Red Sea to the northeast, Indian Ocean to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The Indian and Atlantic Oceans converge off the southern coast of South Africa. Equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn passes through Africa. The world's longest river the Nile and the world's largest desert the Sahara both are in Africa. The population of Africa is about 1.37 billion. Nigeria has the highest population (154.7 million people) in Africa. This represents 18% of Africa's total population. The continents terrain was inhabitable and remained unknown for thousands of years, earning it the name of 'Dark Continent'. Algeria is the biggest country in Africa by land area. The world's hottest place Ethiopia with the recorded temperature of 125 degrees is in Africa. It's sometimes called "The Gateway to Hell". I couldn't be able to survive here more than one minute. Kilimanjaro, Africa's largest volcano and among the largest on the Earth is indeed a beautiful and fascinating volcano of the world. It is also the highest mountain peak in Africa. After long journey of 3 weeks 5 days, I decided to change my continent. I enjoyed a lot on this continent.

North America:

Then I went to the third largest continent in the world, North America. It is named after the country United States of America (USA). North America covers an area of about 24,709,000 square kilometres, about 16.5% of the Earth's land area and about 4.8% of its total surface. It consists of total 23 countries with some Island friends. North America is bounded on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the North Atlantic Ocean, on the south by the Caribbean Sea, and on the west by the North Pacific Ocean. It is connected through the South America by the 'Isthmus of Panama'. The biggest country in the continent is Canada. The largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior is situated in this continent. Mississippi River, the longest river of North America contains about one-eighth of the entire continent. The Statue of Liberty, one of the seven wonders, is in New York. Largest Active Volcano, Mauna Loa (Hawaii Island, USA) is come under cover of this continent. With a peak at 6,190 meters (20,310 feet), Alaska's Denali has the highest elevation in North America. Denali, also called Mount McKinley, is the tallest mountain in North America, located in south-central Alaska. After taking halt on that continent we left from there after 2 weeks 2 days.

South America:

Then, I visited the fourth largest continent of the world, South America. It has an area of 17,840,000 km2 or almost 12% of Earth's total land area. It consists of total 12 countries. It has the least number of countries. South America is bounded by the Caribbean Sea to the northwest and north, the Atlantic Ocean to the northeast, east, and southeast, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. In the northwest it is joined to North America by the Isthmus of Panama, a land bridge. The world's largest swimming pool, San Alfonso Del Mar Resort. It's the length of over nine football fields, and filled with 66 million gallons of water. It also has world's longest mountain range, The Andes. World's largest forest, The Amazon is located here. It is home to more than 30 million people and one in ten known species on Earth. It is twice the size of India, and over half the size of America. South America has over 200 volcanoes. After taking halt on that continent we left from there after 1 week 2 days.

Australia and Antarctica:

Australia is an island continent and it has 14 countries all are island. So, I didn't go there. And Antarctica is the coldest continent in the world only some species of animals live there and only scientists can go there for their research only. So, I didn't go there also.

So, that's my Journey of visiting 5 continents and their countries. But, I love my India only.
