Vishnu - Dashavatar

Lord Vishnu was relaxing in Vaikuntha. Suddenly he heard a cry. It was Bhudevi ( Mother Earth). Vishnu got up and asked, " Why are you crying, Devi? Is there any trouble?"

Bhudevi answered crying, "Everyone is nice on Earth...I give them plants, fruits, land, and soil but I have a burden too..." "Which trouble Mother?" asked Vishnu. "With good people, there are evil forces too...It's a burden to me and people living on me."

After listening to this lord Vishnu said, "Don't worry...To remove this burden and to destroy all evil forces, I will take 10 avatars and descend on Earth."

"First I will take Avatar of a Fish (Matsya Avatar) and save some important people and earth from the tsunami. The second Avatar will be the Kurma avatar (Turtle) where I will hold mountain, Mandar in churning of ocean. The third will be Varaha avatar in which I will be a bore and will save the earth from demon Hiranyaksh. The fourth will be Narasimha  avatar where I will be neither a human nor an animal and I will kill the evil demon Hiranyakashipu.

The fifth avatar will be Vamana Avatar, a big dwarf where I will teach a lesson to the demon king, Bali. Sixth avatar will be Parashurama is one of the chiranjeevis who will appear at the end of the Kali yuga to be the guru of my tenth and last avatar Kalki. Seventh avatar will be Ram the prince of Auyodha and will kill Ravan. Eighth avatar will be Krishna and will be a central character in the Mahabharata, the Bhagavata Purana and the Bhagavad Gita. Ninth avatar will be Budha and tenth avatar will be Kalki riding a white horse with a fiery sword. 

Bhudevi was very happy.
