Shri Vinayak S. Mulhekar was a staunch Sai devotee who had visited Shirdi with Nana Chandorkar.

Nana had taken five seers of milk with him for distribution. Both had alighted at Kopergaon and bathed in the Godavari. When Nana Chandorkar commenced the milk distribution, women and children clamoured for the same and created a commotion. His friend Vinayak Mulhekar seated in a tonga, was waiting for Nana to finish. He alighted upon hearing all the commotion and told the people. "Do not trouble him. He is not an ordinary pilgrim. He is the district's Deputy Collector and a Pucca devotee of SAI."

Later when both reached Shirdi it was time for the Aarti. After the Aarti when Nana and Vinayak prostrated before Sai, the latter looked at Vinayak and said, "So Nana is a Pucca devotee and what are you-a Kuccha devotee?"

Vinayak was surprised and remembered his words to the pilgrims at Kopergaon. It clearly shows how Sai gave the experience of His omniscience at every step. Besides He gave the benefit of His profound wisdom to His devotees, so that they shunned from any sort of conceit..! Sai lovingly narrated stories to guide His devotees on the right path.
