Hi, I am Sasha and I am from Yaniklar, a small village in Turkey. This is my autobiography.

As long as I can remember, I always had a passion for dance. I can dance to any tune, may it be classical or may it be western. One time in school, I was asked to dance on spot spontaneously for our school's Teacher's day celebration. The song I was given was Lokiverse. I was just so into the tune that I did not realize I was dancing in front of my classmates, especially in front of my class teacher! After my dance, I expected very bad and mean comments from my classmates. Instead, I was congratulated. I was shocked.

Another time in school, I was asked choreograph 2 songs. One was Believer and the other was Stay. When my crew performed the dance, not only were they congratulated, even I was congratulated as the choreographer of the crew. So I decided that dancing is what I am going to do for the rest of my life.

When I turned 14, things took a wild turn. My father had a transit from his job so we had to move from Yaniklar to Edinburgh, Scotland. This place was known for a popular dance known as Ceilidh. As I watched the local people dance for the music, I started joining with them. I danced till I was tired to the core. When I returned home, I saw my parents fuming. 'How dare you join with the locals for dancing? I dreamt of making you a star but you! You brought disgrace to our family!' my father barked at me. My mother said nothing.

When I was sleeping (not peacefully), My friend Mia knocked on my window. Mia was the new girl in our neighbourhood and we instantly became friends. She had a Baskin Robins ice cream bucket with her and she wanted me to join her. We ate ice cream and I told Mia how my family was against my wish of dancing.

She calmly told 'If you know that dancing is your life for sure, go on and participate in the dance competition coming up in our neighbourhood. Don't let your parents know until the day of the contest. Ask them to come and when they watch you dance, I am sure they will change their mind.'

I was convinced with Mia's idea and secretly signed up for the local dance competition in our neighbourhood. I practiced for the competition with my full potential and on the day of the competition, I left the tickets for the contest on my dad's table, hoping that my parents will come.

When it was my turn to grab the stage, I looked into the crowd of audience and scanned for my parents. There they were, sitting in the first row. I cannot say that they were cheering for me. Still, with the hope that my parents will change their mind, I climbed onto the stage and started dancing. After my dance, the first people to congratulate me were my parents. I was so relieved. I searched for Mia to tell her the good news and there she was, standing with the results of the competition.

She announced to the audience,'Well, everyone, the winner for this contest is SASHA! Let's cheer for this budding star in our very own neighbourhood. I was completely shocked. After I received the price, I hugged my parents.

                                                            THE END
