My Boon and Bane

Now, we have all passed the pandemic period and Corona has lost its impact on the society. But in 2020, we were all locked in our homes and most people were even confined to their rooms. Positivity and negativity prevails in every object, situation or even a person. It depends on which side we choose to look at. I am advising you to take the positive side and enjoy everything that happens around you even though doing that is hard. To be honest, I always looked at the negative part if the lockdown when I was experiencing it but now, when I look back, even the positivity is visible for me. 

We did have a lot of fun didn't we? We had the social media to connect with each other and we weren't left alone. We discovered our hobbies, interest, and passion. We had a lot of free time to connect with our family and most importantly, ourselves. In this 21st century, we never have time for ourselves. We are always busy running behind others fulfilling their needs. We never really looked after ourselves. Lockdown made us realise that.

Still there are sorrows aren't they? They never leave us alone. It was during the month of May 2021 my whole family including me got tested with covid positive. We did not know what to do. Each one of us excluding me were given a cover filled with the tablets that they should take. I was asymptomatic, so I was in the perfect condition to take care of all of them. I practically worked like a nurse during the 2 weeks of quarantine. My grandpa was tested negative, so he bought all the necessary things needed.

The first few days were difficult for everyone. None of us understood what happened. Then slowly, as the time passed, we understood and soon taking care became a routine for us. Many of us including my parents lost their tasting and smelling ability. My father had a very bad throat.

After those things ended, we came back to track and even the lockdown ended. And then started the normal life that we are now living in. The lockdown is neither a boon nor a bane. I seriously don't know what this is.
