That Scary Picnic

Kavita, Ravi, Suketu, Navya, Surabhi, Tanya, Samir, and Nachiket had just completed their Medical studies ... They all had appeared for their MBBS final year exams and were looking for some nice break.

They all met at Ravi's house to plan their trip to some remote place which is peaceful and also some natural spots to see and enjoy their picnic. Surabhi and Nachiket dropped out from this plan . Some of them suggested Lonavala, Navya said Matheran Samir said Kullu - Manali.

In between Tanya interrupted saying that I have a fantastic idea. My ManavUncle who is NRI and having a big bungalow at Kasuali.

Which is a nice natural place with a lot many sites to visit around. And there we will get all the facilities at home and cleaner and cook too. As when Manavuncle comes with their family at that time stay there for 3 months or so and their bungalow and garden are maintained by their staff throughout the year. And we can ask the same cook to make food for us. So, we will have no tension or extra expenses to be paid for hotels.

All unanimously agreed with this. It was already late today to carry on the discussion further, so they all decided to meet after two days at Tanya's house only.

 As decided, they'll gather at Tanya's house at 9 am. As Navya enter the house she just screamed out of happiness. ". wow Aunty, I can smell that Samosas from your kitchen so I know we are going to have a great Samosa and Teatime. " And everybody started shouting with joy. 

 Here Tanya was trying to connect online with her Manav uncle from her laptop, and luckily, she gets through on video call. After Hi hello, and having talked with Tanya's mom with Manavuncle and Nisha Aunty. Tanya takes the charge and she comes to the point, as soon as Manav uncle inquires about her final exams. Tanya said, " yes Uncle, my final exams are over. It was very good. Now we all friends are planning for a picnic...and all have come together to be seen on screen. So, Tanya said, " I told them about your bungalow at Kasauli. So, for that only we have called you. So Manavuncle happily said, " yes Beta, you all future doctors, you are happily welcome. Enjoy your picnic, have fun... I will give instructions to the staff there to keep everything neat and clean... I am sure they are doing it always. And will tell them to keep meal ready for you when you reach there, they will convey the cook. And just email me the time of your reaching there. Also, any other help you need, any problem there you can contact me. Wish you all a good time. " then Tanya and all said, " thank you uncle, you are great... Good night. " And Tanya disconnected the call. 

Now all were ready to decide the travel dates, reservations, what all things to take along, who is going to bring which game, and which snacks. As they decide to go by a train while going and come by flight while coming back. 

Tanya's mother comes with two trays full of fresh hot samosas with tomato ketchup and tells Tanya to help her bring hot tea for all. Tanya and Kavita go to the kitchen to bring tea. They all tentatively fix the date of travel and decide that by evening all will confirm it to Suketu and then he will reserve the tickets and about return tickets, it is decided that after reaching there they will book air tickets 

. All confirm to Suketu in the evening about their yes for a decided date but Ravi had to travel with his mother to attend a relative's wedding at a nearby place and Samir too have some appointment so both of them told suketu not to book their tickets. They both said we will come 1 day late. So, three girls and Suketu had to leave on the decided date and so they reserve tickets for four persons. 

Tanya, Navya, Kavita , and Suketu start their journey by 2AC by train. Tanya already had informed Manav uncle about their date and time of reaching Kasuali as soon as their tickets were booked. Everyone had got their favorite homemade snacks. Also playing cards for timepass  during train travel. They all just enjoyed their train travel just like free birds they were feeling. 

In the morning at around 11 they get down at Kalka station and from there they take a cab and by 12: 30 they were at Manavuncle's huge beautiful bungalow. The staff there helped them in taking their luggage inside and gave them chilled water. They all felt so nice and relaxed. Tanya immediately sent an email to Manav uncle to convey about their arrival. And all of them call their residence to tell that, we have reached safely. The place and arrangement are too good here, and not to worry about them. "

They all freshen up and take lunch, which was too good. They thank the cook for such a nice meal. All decide to take a rest and then in the evening, after tea and snacks, they go for an outing and for dinner.

After coming back, they enjoy talking sitting in the garden in the open air. And also discuss the next day's plan, as the next day Samir and Ravi were going to join them. after some time, they come inside and watch TV for some time. 

The bungalow had two bedrooms on the ground floor and 3 bedrooms upstairs. They decide not to go upstairs but to use bedrooms on ground floor, one for Suketu and another one for 3 girls. Bedrooms were very comfortable so all had a nice peaceful sleep. 

In the morning at 7 am they all get up due to the morning alarm sound but it was a very scary sound like used in horror films... They didn't know how to stop it. They 4 gather at one place and look for a security person ....as the sound was creating fear, but then soon it stops... And they all felt relaxed. But also thought that how anyone can set such a fearful and horror sound????

 Anyways up to 12:30 they had to wait in a bungalow waiting for Ravi and Samir's arrival. So, they finish their tea/coffee and breakfast and go upstairs to see the house. It's neat and clean and lavish. The surrounding scenery also was very beautiful. After their bath, they were just taking a round of garden which was well maintained by Gardener, whom they ask about some trees and flowers and talk to him for some time. And then he gets busy in his work. 

While roaming in the garden, Kavita suddenly screams with fear, Tanya and Navya come to see so Kavita said, " I just saw one big knife with blood on it, so I screamed, Suketu also come from inside, they try and look for that knife but it was not there. Kavita looks for Gardener to ask him about that knife but he also had disappeared. Anyways they all immediately go inside and were unable to understand what's happening here????

At 12:30 Samir and Ravi arrive, all now happy, as their team was complete now. Tanya goes into the kitchen and sees if a cook needs any help, who was a young lady. And she helps her cutting salad, Kavita and Navya also help in arranging dishes, glasses, and other prepared food, on the dining table. 

Ravi and Samir' also get fresh and come into the dining room. All were chatting and enjoying delicious food. And while talking they decide that, after some rest, they will leave for Kullu - Manali. They will spend two days roaming and watching all the beautiful places there and come back to Kasauli. So, they inform the cook and other staff about their program.

 They take some rest downstairs only and get ready and they decide to keep their luggage, which they won't carry with them, at one place upstairs and lock that room' for safety purpose. As they go upstairs, they saw curtains are moving with the wind and some sound of doors " Karr...Karr...which exactly was like, shown in horror movies. Girls get scared but then Ravi said, it's nothing but the sound due to air and wind.

They all keep their luggage and lock the room and leave that bungalow. Before that Tanya said, " let me inform Manavuncle about our scary experiences since we have come here." So she calls him up but instead of answering the call he sends a reply on WhatsApp saying," Tanya, I hope you all are fine and enjoying your picnic. I am out of  station and on some official secret mission and can't take your call. If you have any problem there then inform the cook and other staff there. They will help you. When I reach home, I will call you back. "

Anyways they all forget about what happened in that house and start their journey. They just enjoy their time in kullu-Manali, take a lot many pictures, make videos ,  visit one big hospital at Manali which was under construction. And they all were very happy. On the way, they had dinner, which they already informed the cook. 

After reaching there they just wanted to relax and take good rest so Tanya just informs Sandhya, a cook that just make nice hot coffee for us before we go to sleep. So, after half an hour they heard a song, " gumnam hai koi.... a song from a horror movie... And Sandhya coming with a coffee in-tray. She was dressed up in a White gown with long hair and red lipstick and scary make up... They all just didn't know what is happening. When she came close, Navya notices her long nails too. It was horrible. She just put the tray on the table, and before anyone can gather courage and ask about this, she disappeared from there. 

Now it was too much. Especially the girls said we can't live here, let us go to some hotel. But Samir said, " don't get panic. We are there. Nothing will happen. It's late-night, now how we can go, we won't find any hotel. Let's do one thing, " we all will rest in the hall for the night. And will keep a dim light. Don't be scared. Will see what we can do in the morning. " So, all agree with that.

The next day morning all seems fine, fear had gone. All come to the dining room for breakfast, after finishing their routine things. All were silent. Sandhya also was seen as normal. She served tea and breakfast to all. 

Then they discuss yesterday and before that. So, Ravi said I have a surprise upstairs so all said, " we are already scared. Today also they heard that same horrible alarm sound in the morning. But Ravi takes them upstairs, in one room when they all enter, there were haunted things and dangerous and scary paintings and some skulls and bones and black cloths and many fearful things. So Kavita, Tanya, Navya come downstairs screaming with fear and cursing Ravi and Samir' 

All gather downstairs and Samir looking at Ravi and said, " let us reveal it now. And they started laughing loudly and making some sounds like a horror movie. But they said now enough.... Especially girls.," we are sorry but this was our plan, we played prank ...as we wanted to do something unusual and wanted to make this picnic, which was our last picnic as college students and to make it memorable. So, we didn't travel with you but came one day before you. Took cook, gardener, and other staff here into confidence and involved them in this prank. Even Manavuncle knew about this. " 

All get so surprised and didn't know if they should cry or laugh. But after knowing the truth they felt so relaxed and finally, all came together as a group with their hands on each other's shoulders and they laughed a lot... 

Truly a memorable picnic ......
