Navratri is festival of Maa Durga. It is a festival of nine days, people play Garba in these nine days. Some devotees also observe fast for nine days. Navratri is celebrated throughout the country. The festival honors and celebrates the goddess Durga for defeating the demon Mahisasura. People wear colorful clothes and play Garba. The nine forms of goddess Durga are Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Katayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri. During these nine days and nights, these forms of goddess Durga are worshipped. Navratri in Sanskrit means nine and ratri means night. We welcome the season spring and autumn. The end of Navratri on the tenth day marks Dushhera, it is celebrated as the day Lord Rama defeated Kind Ravan in Lanka. I love to play to Garba and enjoy the festival.
