First Marriage

       Brahma, the creator of the Universe, after creating the Prajapaties had divided Himself in to two parts as Manu and Satarupa,the first man and woman of this Universe .Both of them were advised Brahma to produce praja and live happily.

According to the advice of their father Brahma ,Manu and Satarupa prduced two

sons named Priyabrata and Uttanapada and three daughters named Akuti , Debahuti and Prasuti .

         Kardama, one of the Prajapaties created by Brahma earlier was doing

tapasya for production of praja as per

the advice of Brahma,his father .

         Bhagavan,the Almighty God advised Manu to get married his daughter Debahuti with Kardama who is doing tapasya. Simultaneously Bhagavan went to Kardama and told that He is satisfied with

him and advised him to marry Debahuti, the

daughter of Manu for fulfilling his ambitions of creation of praja as per the advice if his father,Brahma .

          Manu and Satarupa came to the

Ashram of Kardama with their daughter in

a chariot and left Debahuti in Kardama's

Ashram asking him to marry her as per the Vedic rituals .

          The marriage of Kardama and Debahuti was the first marriage ever done

in the universe according to Bhagavat.
