It never crossed her mind that she would one day be left alone to live and make ends meet for her boys.

Jayne grew up in a home where domestic violence threatened her at a very young age. The last of the fights between her parents was when she stepped in screaming as she grasped the ax with both hands. 'Daddy stop stop daddy', she repeated those words. This brought help next door to calm the situation.

She pondered on the question as to why couples fight and what cause marriage backups. She found no answers to her questions so decided to shelf it away for a while.

While still at school she soon learnt that her dad had moved on with his life. She was crushed and it hit her hard.

Love was a game she was never ready for. It was so sweet yet so bitter . It broke her deep within. Fighting back the tears she saw the past spill over into her life. Her siblings all into the same boat they sailed. Each a broken marriage.

Her mother she died a warrior a single mother till death stole her one mid November morning . She died of depression for she locked herself in her mind. She cared for everyone yet she suffered silently in her mind of loneliness.

Jayne today calls her the Warrior Mother and the pillar of strength and courage of the family. She was all they had those rough tough journey of life she and her siblings went through.

Sitting alone in her three bedroom home she can remember those days when she watched in silence her mother trying to make ends meet for everyone. In the end she died alone.

Jayne gathered strength within and moved out of her life of loneliness picked up the pieces of her scattered dreams and told herself that her past pain she'd make better for her children and her.

A repetition of life her siblings and her, the lives they live today. All throughout life never did they dream of going through such but they did. A repetition in their own lives as well.

Jayne alone is the warrior amongst them. Five failed marriages has made her see the hell of a life it can be. A life where she finds the true meaning of the phrase 'survival of the fittest'.

A lowly paid job has kept her going. Her strength is her talk with God each day. He is the difference in her life today.

Her other only companion is her biro and her mind.

Jayne has crossed many rivers , climbed a thousand mountains almost got lost at sea but managed to reach the shore safely.

Though she lives alone life for her is the happiest at this time and era. Just her children and her, her God and her pen is all that matters right now
