A Memorable Experience
A Memorable Experience
This is about one memorable experience of my school days. I was in the 10th standard, Board exam year. It was Saturday and we had a morning school that day. I was late so I missed the bus and decided to go on my elder sister's bicycle . I hooked bag with books and notebooks to the carrier which is given at the backside of cycle. My school was 5-6 kms. away from my house.
While coming back home in the afternoon, I wanted to reach home as early as possible as I was hungry, but when I came to Railway crossing which was on my way, it was closed as the train was to pass by from there ,so I had to wait till the gate opens.
As soon as the gate opened I rushed towards home, along with the crowd, then I realized that my bag is not there on carrier back. Then I went back to Railway crossing and searched for it, also waited there for some time but I couldn't find my bag or my books so I came home. I told about this to everyone at home but didn't tell my father.
Without knowing the seriousness of my losing books, notebooks which were important to me for my board exams, I passed my day as usual and went off to sleep at 9.30 pm . And in the morning when I got up I got a surprise, that one shop owner had come last night to give my bag with books in it and my father received it.
and how he got our house address is my sheer luck that my Record card was in it, which fortunately was received from school for taking signature from parents for my that month's attendance.
What I want to tell with this story is that these books and notebooks and record card were found by a boy at Railway crossing, the boy must be of my age and was working in a shop, so he gave it to shop owner with the intention that we must return this to whosoever that belongs to, so the owner came to our house after closing his shop in night and returned this .
This made me believe that how the sincerity, honesty, and goodness of somebody , who is actually deprived of studying further and of that happiness maybe, helped me pass my board exams and helped me rise in life. And still we usually say that our success is due to our own efforts and support from near and dear ones, but I add here that it is also because of such unknown honest souls that we come across in our life.
So my this story is dedicated to that unknown boy and shop owner whom I admire.
