Whoosh ! Went the hot air as it came out of the cigarette. Aakash smoked a lot even though he knew it was not good for him. He used to smoke out of stress and worry but now it had become a habit. Every day he smoked on the side of the road, on his bike after work. His friends and the people close to him told him it was not good, but he didn't listen. Old habits die hard!

Each day he used an entire pack on his journey home. Day by day his lungs degraded, and Aakash was still oblivious to this. By the time he reached his house, his pack would be done and he would be left with stubs of cigarettes. Every day he would get reminded about his wrongdoing. No matter if it was with friends or family. Each day he would have a long conversation with them. One day he had an especially long conversation... Here's the list of it ...

" Aakash don't smoke its not good for you ", said his friend sternly

" Why not, it doesn't harm me ", replied Aakash

" Oh Really ? ", asked his friend

" Ya, it ... doesn't ", said Aakash

" It Destroys your lungs ", his friend said voice increasing

" But I don't feel anything ", replied Aakash his confidence diminishing

" Of course you won't feel anything but it still causes havoc though " Replied his friend

" Huh, it's fine " replied Aakash dismissively

" You don't change do you, " Said his friend

Then they parted ways and Aakash went back home. Days passed by fast and Aakash was starting to find it difficult to breathe but he ignored that and kept on going as normal. Day after day he kept on smoking and he kept on destroying his lungs. The worst was to come and it was coming fast. One day he found that he couldn't breathe and he fainted and fell to the ground. He was at work at that time and his colleagues took him to the hospital. They said he had a 50 percent chance of living. Fortunately, he did live, the people close to him were relieved and they hoped he'd learned his lesson. And he sure did!
