A leaking tap, broken glass, cracked walls, and a smiling face. Ivy sat in happiness amongst the dust and settled on the sofas beside her. Regardless of her house's condition, she smiled furiously and blushed at the same time. She jumped up and down making the dust fly in the air around her. She twirled like a belle dancer with a piece of paper in her hand. She immediately lost control and fell down, but instead of getting back up, she rolled on the ground in happiness laughing loudly like she heard the best joke in her entire life. Ivy was a 15-year-old independent teenager who lived alone in her small apartment. She went to Mariana High School. The best in the country. And yet she was living in a poor condition. Her parents were.........not so nice. They didn't treat her like she was their daughter, just a responsibility. Ivy felt like all she was a burden and ran from her home at the age of 10.

She went to her aunt and told her what had happened which made her aunt really mad at her parents. Her aunt was very rich and had a successful business. Her aunt insisted that she could live with her but Ivy wanted to be independent and stand up on her own feet. At first, her aunt refused but later she agreed only on one condition, that she would pay for her school and food. Ivy had to agree or her aunt wouldn't let her go. She was an A-grade student and she was all the teacher's favorite. She had many good friends. But her best friend was the only one. Olive. Olive and Ivy met at the parents-teacher meeting. They both didn't have parents. Ivy was walking down the stairs when she bumped into a boy who started troubling her because of her hair color. Olive heard them making fun of her hair and came in between.

And what happened, made Ivy and Olive best friends forever. Ivy's hair was a strange blue color and to her surprise, they were naturally colored that way. Some people admired her hair, like her friends. But some people were just jerks and always made fun of it. Ivy got up from the floor and lay down on her couch. The piece of paper she had in her hand was a letter from.......Laura Emerson. Laura was Ivy's elder sister. After Ivy left her house, Laura and Ivy had been sending letters to each other because Laura wasn't allowed to call, text, or meet Ivy, thanks to her cruel parents. They both, unlike other sisters, never fought or hated each other. They both loved to play with each other. Laura missed Ivy and vice versa. Ivy was very excited to open the letter because Laura had been talking about her scholarship to London. London is where Ivy lived and she was excited to see her. She could just look at the letter and tell me that she must have been accepted. She carefully opened the seal of the letter and took out the letter.

She read -

Dear, Ivy

I hope you are fine. I have a piece of bad and good news. I got into college but mom and dad won't let me go. They refused to let me go to college and got me registered in another college which is far away from London and my house. They are not telling me the reason, that why aren't they letting me go to the college but I think they know you live in London. Please forgive me. I too was looking forward to meeting you but unfortunately, I can not deny my parents. Take care

Yours sincerely

Laura

What !?! Ivy thought why would they ever do this. Laura is their daughter, shouldn't they think about what is good for her. Ivy was really mad. She went into her bedroom where a photo of her and Olive was on the table. She picked it up and smiled. There was a knock on the door. Ivy went to open it. It was Olive. Ivy smiled and hugged Olive. "Hey, what's the matter. Everything alright ?"

Ivy smiled at her and pulled her away "yeah of course everything is fine, what could happen to me ?"

"Stop lying. I know something's up. You can't hide anything from me, Ivy". Olive put her hands on Ivy's elbows and straightened her back. Ivy stared into her deep blue eyes and sighed "It's nothing, really". She looked away.

"Okay then. If it isn't anything them you wouldn't bother going to grab a cup of coffee, right ?" said Olive in a chirpy tone.

"No. I'm fine, you go without me".

Ivy scratched her nose and then looked away. Olive wasn't giving up until she found out what was bothering her. She tried to match eye contact but Ivy refused to meet her eye. Olive tried every trick she had, to make Ivy tell what had happened. But nothing worked. Boy, she really is upset. Thought Olive. I guess there is only one thing left to do.

"You leave me no choice" Said Olive

"What!? No, no, no, no".

Olive wiggled her hands and then started tickling Ivy. She knew that Ivy couldn't stand tickling and she gets tickled very easily.

"Okay fine, I'll tell you what hap-hahaha-penned. please stop tick-haha-ling".

"K fine, what is it ?"

"it's Laura. she got into college but mom and dad won't let her come to London. maybe it's because of me, maybe they know I live here".

"Oh, come one. Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault and I'm sure Laura wouldn't think like that".

"But-"

"But nothing, you are going to grab a coffee with me and that's it".

"Fine, but I won't stay long. after the coffee, I'm coming back".

"whatever".

They left and Ivy locked the house. They got in their car and drove to the nearest cafe. just as Ivy sat down for her coffee, her eyes opened wide staring at a certain someone. She couldn't move a muscle. she stood there with her mouth and eyes wide open.

"What's wrong ?" asked Olive. the person she was staring at moved his head and looked towards Ivy and the same thing happened to him. He stood like a statue staring at Ivy and Ivy staring at him.

"is it you ?" said, Ivy

"what do you mean ?" said the unknown boy

"Noah".

"Ivy ?"

"yes"

They both suddenly smiled and ran towards each other and hugged. Olive stared in confusion and tried to figure out what happened. Noah was Ivy's childhood Best friend. Noah was the one who helped her run away from her house. Ivy's parents run one of the richest businesses in the UK and Noah's parents are good friends and business partners of Ivy's parents. Noah also didn't like his parents but whenever their parents had important meetings together, they used to leave both of them together. They bonded through all these years and grew up together. They knew each other since they were 4. Unfortunately, one fateful night, Ivy had a huge argument with her parents over sending her to boarding school. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson had decided they were going to send Ivy away to a boarding school but Ivy refused to leave Noah and Laura behind. That argument ended with a huge fight between the Emerson and the William family which was Noah's family. No one knew why the William family stopped giving funding to Ivy's parent's company and soon their business came to a tragic end. Ivy's parents blamed all of this on Ivy and got her admission to a far-away boarding school. Ivy cried all night that day but then Noah told Ivy to run away and so she did. She hasn't seen Noah since that day. Noah was easy to recognize because of his distinct qualities. He has crimson eyes, one of the most beautiful eyes in this whole world. Ivy had never seen such pretty eyes.

"who is this boy Ivy?"

"This is my childhood best friend, Noah".

"Your childhood best friend, I thought I was your best friend".

Olive looked at Noah and stared at his deep crimson eyes and said "he's not that special". she turned her face away. Ivy and Noah giggled. "Thank you, I guess". said, Noah. Ivy smiled "Noah, this is Olive, my current best friend". Noah wanted to laugh but didn't "wow, that's messed up. You have two best friends". Ivy ignores that comment and started interrogating Noah.

"How come you are here ?"

"My parents enrolled me into this new school because it's said to be the best in the country, I had no choice but to come".

"Which school ?"

"it's something like Marina or Mariana High School or something".

"that's Amazing, That's where I go".

"what? that's amazing".

"How come you didn't call me ?"

"I forgot"

"you forgot to tell your best friend the biggest and nicest news ever. You are such an idiot".

"I meet you after 5 years and you call me an idiot".

"that's because you are one".

"you are an even bigger idiot, you never told me you were in London".

"I didn't ?"

"No, you didn't".

Ivy and Noah talked and told each other about what was happening in their lives and it took hours. Olive just stood there looking at them talking. when finally Ivy and Noah stopped talking Olive sighed and said "Ivy let's go home, I"m bored". Ivy made a face and said "But I wanna talk more to Noah, we have 5 years to catch up on, it'll take time". "Ivy, I think you should go home, we will meet in school you know, I also have to go back, my friends are waiting for me". saying that he got up from his chair and smiled at Ivy. Ivy also got up and said, "ok, meet you in school". and they both waved bye and went their separate ways. But they didn't know what horrors were about to come into their lives and destroy their perfect little lives...
