The Narrower Side
The Narrower Side
I wish all of it was true
I wish we were that good
Keeping everything together
When time seemed like a tether
Chain by chain suffocating us
Together or apart,
It didn't matter at all.
I wished to survive the deep ends
When I dived in you head on
Where I swam for days
And you refused to take notice
I knew years would go by
Reaching the shore...
But you didn't have any,
Couldn't have asked for more...
I wished for a journey
Heavenly as the first frost
Your Damn co
ld demeanor taught me
Be careful what you wish for...
You gave me what you got
A matchstick and a piece of log
To keep me warm amidst your stone coldness
You still managed to make a home.
With all the sufferings and pain
And post-trauma coming to life
I realized I am my only hero
Stuck in qualms of losing control
To a sidekick.
So Mr. who sucked me up in the depths
Thank you for letting me know
Having a sip of you was a blessing in disguise
And what an underrated bliss is the narrower side.
