The Continual Struggle
The Continual Struggle
Invaders had been coming to the Holy land
To plunder its riches or destroy its cultures
During all this time some brave men lent their hand
To protect the motherland from the vultures.
One such man, part of a series of fighters
Rides the horse alone to the border
Motivated by the love of country and the exhortation of writers
He is also part of the royal order.
Over hundreds of years
Men have fought with courage
Overcoming their internal demons and fears
It is the stuff of a thriller.
The animal is as motivated as man
Its ears pick up the faint sound of the enemy army
It runs as fast as it can
It knows that the war is going to be bloody.
Brave men have sacrificed their lives over the millennia
Fear was never part of their lexicon
Sometimes it was part of the hysteria
Although they knew that the race was not a short run but a marathon.
