Imminent Storm
Imminent Storm
Dark clouds over the horizon far away
Strong waves are rushing towards the shore
Boatmen know that it is the coast that they have to stay
For storm warnings they rely on folklore.
Two ships stay anchored in the port
Waves attack their bodies from all sides
There is no risk of them getting lost
They are not going for rough sea rides.
The city skyscrapers are covered by a white shroud
Clouds have made them invisible
Neither is visible any crowd
The devastation may make the city p
itiful.
The clouds are dark and ominous
They want to satiate sea’s appetite for water
The high sea waves are there to crush
Anything and everything that does matter.
Mountains loom large behind the rain clouds
To save their advance further
As the fury of nature pounds
There is an imminent change of weather.
Earth has faced many cataclysmic events over millennia
Yet from the ruins has sprouted new life
Yet humankind suffers dementia
Continues to live in strife.
