Friend O'mine, in the year oncoming;

  If I am no longer by your side,

If will loses and Destiny plays her part

  And you fail to find me far and wide

Before that, just hear my beating heart.

Friend O' mine in years oncoming 

  May you never fall short of strength and faith

And every battle that life beholds,

  You can still look eye to eye with faith.

Every battle and every war of dream,

  May your flag be the peak O

In a place where winds of hope blow

  I wish you a house near the river end,

Warmth of fire in storms of snow,

  And a lover, lover to make you home

A cat and dog, with footsteps of friends.

And by the soil of love beyond

  You plant a garden of memories and fun

For roses to bloom and give and share,

  And some apples from heaven seed,

For your kids to climb here and there

By the river of hope you may weep,

  And tears, be of happiness or of pain,

May they flow far away to the sea,

  And shower back as joy from heaven above.

As the year ahead knocks your door,

  May it open all the doors you await,
